Just got my Skater 28 skater back fro Mark Morris at Visual Imagination for paint. Thanks Mark for the excellent work. Thanks Double Rigged for the windshield contact with Carmen at Aero Marine and Rayzor for boat lift set-up and your 28 for inspiration! Just need to " put it back together.

Turned out great David! Your painter did a beautiful job! Very similar, yet different enough that they don't look identical.

David,
Boat looks really nice! The windshield came out great also. You will love it. I see they went with the longer glass on the sides. If you dont mind me asking send me a pm with about what it cost for that kind of paint work. Also is that an aluminum trailer? Who made it? Like Zero said you need the Mike Nass Cowls to finish it off!
You should post it over in the Skater section on OSO also!

I guess that I will have to settle for fiberglass cowls from Mike Nass. Infused carbon are no longer available. How much heavier are the fiberglass ones?

I just recently purchased a cover for my 300XS from Mike Nass and it weighed 11 lbs with the hardware installed on it. I think I heard that the Carbon Fiber was 8 lbs?? I was happy!

I have the one of the last sets of Carbon ones he made. The are truly a piece of art. There is not much weight difference though as I had fiberglass ones as well that I sold to Erik for his rerig on his 28.

Looking good!!! I too have the carbon fiber cowls on my 300xs's, they are about 7lbs. Definitely a much cleaner look.

Double Rigged you thinking about painting yours? I think your wrap looks great.

You doing some porting and 3.2 strokers ?

Not just sure yet. I really want to put to bed and find out 300xs versus the 300x. I have a good set up on my boat with 300xs's. I would like to run them stock first to see what the real difference is. Once that is established I will decide how far to build the motors. When I am done the goal will be to have the boat run around 120mph. I have heard all sorts of numbers with 300x's over the years but as with all posted speeds not all are true readings under realistic conditions. For sure porting and most likely a big bore kit. Will be looking for an engine machine shop at some point the specializes in 3.0 lites.

He has a set of 300x's in the box brand new from 2004. He wants 40k for the pair. I tried to buy them from him and could not get him to budge on the price. He really does not need to sell them. He also a bass 280 in the box also. If you are interested I can PM you his number also. My motors came off a 28' Skater.
I have two 3.0l sportmasters w/2 piece drive shafts that came off those motors for sale if anyone is interested. Looking for 4k for both.

You beat me to getting back on the water David! :) Your rig turned out beautiful, that's for sure. Please tell me you're just waiting on your color-matched cowl stickers now - would be a sin to have that beautiful silver/white/blue boat with those factory Mercury red/yellow/orange decals. ;)

Very nice! Clean lines. Is your interior original? If not, who did it? I'm in the process of cleaning mine up and will probably do a thread on it. Converting from race to race/pleasure.
