Maybe with a "Faria" speedometer?
My old Hydrostream Vasseret/200 ProV Yamaha combo went "91 MPH" on my Faria speedo. Only problem was that the GPS said 83 MPH.
:D :D

This boat will do 95, with the right amount of horsepower.
Put a 260 or 280 on the back, and some set back, and this boat is capable of 95+ with the right driver.
I should ask him if he has Faria's

no pic's but the Easy Loader trailer suggest it's a V-bottom. If it was a 20 Scorpion maybe but I don't think they were made in 82'.a light 19 daytona might run that speed.

I don't know if you got pictures from the seller yet but I did and they are posted here:

Don't worry, I'm not bidding. I was just curious for myself and other S&Fers.

Ifv that boat is light and has a center pod it might run 90.if it's a true tunnel it will take some setup to make 90.A 19 w/pod and a 2.4efi will run a 100+,+ depending on the weight. The price is real good, alot of fun for the money.

That was the first time I saw the pix.
He is in my area, so that was why I was curious.
Am looking for alittle more hull. We do experience waves on our rivers, and a big wave, might swamp that boat. I see some of those boats running around, avoiding every wave or, has to air it out when the barges go by.

If you change your mind, the owner (who I don't know at all) and I, have the same pictures except that they are huge. I had to size these way down to post them.
Anyway let me know if you need the big pics and I'll forward them to you.

Call me stooooooopid, but my bet is on low 80's at the very best with a mid 1980's 2.4 and no mention of mods. That 26 pitch wheel doesn't do much to support a 95+ MPH claim either.
I think he's got one of those "happiness meters" like the dealers seem to stick in all the bassboats around here.

No way 95.
For for that year!! call Baker Marine they sold them back then!!
Those were built up north in wisconsin.
Jeff or Sam Baker can give ya speed numbers by year size and hp of mota.
They know they rigged them for a long time back then.
But I bet ya a pay check if ya think ya gonna buy that and go 95 you in for a BIG surprise:(
Especially with a 26.....hell do the math!! and what rpm do ya come up with ya gotta pull???
Next I bet it ain't no light layup!!
K.K.

With that 26 pitch and a 1.87 gear it would need to spin 8017 at 10% slip to reach 95mph, and that's only on paper. The setup would have to be perfect too. :)

That's the whole point Mike. If that motor would turn a 26 to 8 grand the boat would run a whole lot faster with more pitch. I'd guess pitched to low 6's for most top end speed.

............. you bring a GPS to any lake they want . If the boat will run 95 you buy it ................... ( it wont ) If the boat wont run 95 take off $500 for every mph short of 95 ( could end up with a good deal .
I guarrentee they will refuse !!

If they decide to do that they will probably end up owing you money. :D

Don't sell the 19 short.it will get busy in the rough with any mod VP and since it's intro it has become the winningest boat made in it's class. At least it was up into the 90's.It has gone faster than any STV or Mirage. Not bad for a late 70's design.

Lonnie, what do you mean by that? I'd be the last to ever sell a Daytona short, but David Carver ran over 130 in a thousand feet in an STV a couple of years ago and there've been countless people that've run 120's in em.

unless he has a Norskog speedometer. They are always good for 5 mph on Eliminators.A guy ,Jim Dickson had a light, white 19 daytona with a mod. 2.4 efi that kicked butt around the SE in the 80's.A very capable dragboat that was loading them up in palaka and crystal river.Roark and Brad got in the game and in outboard form they aren't as fast. There is a alot of 120-150 mph daytona jets that have raced through the years that won races which provided the win's to be the winningest. Not any 140mph STV's.
As far as a 2.4 and a 26 I ran a fulldress ValeroYT 87+ at 7650 in the 1/4 and 90+with the same modvp and 26 hoss on a 535# V-K YT at 7800 on radar.Add the Norskog factor,wa la,95mph:D My motor was a James Estes ported 200 and it took a 2.5 efi to outrun it around here anyhow.

I'm talking about overall wins. The 19's were very popular out west and at the time everybody raced them as jets.Their speed could go beyond the 1/4 but 140's are common among the frontrunners.
