Not a bad motor.. for a four stroke. Simple design, unlike what most of Mercury makes now, and runs well.

Best 4stroke merc makes. Good power and not crazy heavy. Sounds like there is a 200hp version coming...

It's a large-cube engine for lots of holeshot torque without the complexity of a supercharger. So, WOT fuel economy should be better. Won't cost you and arm and leg like a Verado.

I want one for my fishing boat! Nice simple design that will just run. I have to kill a few other merc's before I get there.

Great motor!! We have sold a ton of them and really on change one powerhead no other issues to complain about.. Way better power than a verado 150 and cheaper to rig.. I heard rumors of a 175 platform but not a 200.

Only thing i see is belt changes. Dohc is a pain if something slips.

Guide buddy of mine has one on a 18' Egret flats boat. Says good things about it. He replaced a 150 opti with the 150 4 stroker. Has a nice growl, not loud but sounds good, like a Mercury should.

good thing is you don't require all the specialized verado rigging, controls and steering, keeps the costs down
