So what is the purpose of the cut outs that run from the exhaust port toward the head? Is this a relief? Does it affect compression tests at starter rotating speed? I want to mill my heads my compression was around 118 on all six cold .

It makes the motor idle smoother and start easier. Yes, it affects compression at starter rotating speed. There is no good way to get an accurate compression reading at cranking speed with one of the relief slot motors. You can ground the plug and start the motor and get a idle speed cranking number which will be higher but it will not equate to what you'd get on a non relief slot motor. That 118 lbs you have is typical if not on the high side. Ive tried a number of different chamber sizes on fat block 2.0's. Got into the high 130's with 28 CC heads but that was probably more like an actual 150 lb+ cranking compression.

Thanx for your reply, in your opinion is 28 cc good for an everyday motor? I have read others mention that size chamber as well. I always run 93 anyway. Also is my block a "fat bock"? I feel that it is from your reply, or did I misinterpret ?

Yours is a fat block. Same externally as a 2.5 and uses the same accesories. I ran a 2.0/105 ( converted jet pump motor . Actually a 150 ) for a couple of years with 92 octane , 25 degrees timing and 28 CC heads and a short tuner. It would zip right up to 7 grand with a 19 pitch prop. Are you running WMV's or WMH's? Lose all the timing boxes , stabilizers etc.

Hey wired, I'm running WMh 30's which you helped me identify in another thread, thanx a million, the timing boxes are going

Powerabout, I would start a new thread with that question so the technical gods see it , sure they will know and answer
