I visited this site, www.grid.org (http://www.grid.org/home.htm) and down loaded the cancer agent on my computer. Don't worry it won't slow it down. Mine is running it at this very minute. It takes a bunch of small computers and couples them together to make one large super computer.
There are three different ones: Cancer Research, Anthrax Research, and Smallpox Research.
You can put the agent to sleep, if need be.
You can also organise it into teams.
So how 'bout it?:)

should have explained it further.....
"Participants in the United Devices Cancer Research Project are sent a ligand library over the Internet. Their PC will analyze the molecules using a docking software called LigandFit by Accelrys. The LigandFit software analyzes the molecular data by using a three-dimensional model to attempt to interact with a protein binding site. When a ligand docks successfully with a protein the resulting interaction is scored and the interactions that generate the highest scores are recorded and filed for further evaluation."

That one works nice! Very little slow down on the system resources unlike Setia at home...
I have been running it for 14 months and I have 123000 points already!

I Just heard about this yesterday afternoon. It's a great idea, uses computing time your not using. Who knows maybe my ol' Dell will be the PC to find an answer!.

Wow, Laker, that is a lot of points.
Yes, it is a great idea. I am a memeber of one team already, but some one could make another. Like I said, it has not slowed my computer at all. It also can be removed if you don't like it,
but there are some that won't do it.
IF YA SKEERD, SAY YA SKEEERD!!!
