Man this Ghost is a 1989? How many 28 footers did they build out of Long Island? This boat looks to be in incredible shape and a ton of boat for $14,000. Are these straight deep Vs?

Cool.. Who bought it??

Two brothers I was told but don't recall a name. I called out of curiosity and seller was nice and gave me a lot of info on boat and it sounded like a well preserved excellent condition find.

It really looked like a survivor. Hope it is going to a good home, good looking older boat for sure and unique. Seller let it go for a very good price.

This 28 ghost w/ 200 1989 yami's runs 71 with coned lowers and 68 with stock lowers as was told to me. Not bad..

So much for cones not working below 80.

Yes, it was Porta Products. The same people who made the delrin solid motor mounts.
I remember when he was developing them in the 90's. Never ran one and don't know how far he got with them.

Mine ran 71 all day with stock lowers on 200 2.6l yamahas and a best of 73 which it did a few times...Cones slowed mine down a little but made it handle like crappp it porpoised like crazy and just wasnt fun to drive...Stock lowers are the way to go with small 2.5-2.6l power...they just dont have the UMPF...With 3.0 liter motors you would have no choice but to run cones or sportmasters but then again the boat should be 80+ all day long...With that being said when i had mine there werent as many prop choices as there are today....we ran Coppers and that was the only prop that held the nose on the 28s....anything else the boat was a dog....i could go on for days but it all comes down to what you like and what you wanna do with the boat...I bet a set of Rev4s or bravo wheels will give you great midrange cruise and drop a little up top but personally i dont care about top end for me its more about a fast cruise speed where i spend 90% of my time...

I ran 26 choppers on my boat....honestly they work and there cheap so there is no shame in that...heck i used to get all the customers scrap props with cracked blades and bends when i was at K&K and run em till they DIED...LOL....I have a good set that i hardly ever used because i didnt wanna wreck em...one missed buoy was all it took and trust me i missed a few on the way home from fire island a few times....24s will def get you outta the hole easier and be more responsive in the rough water though....I think i have a pretty nice right hand chopper 24 if you want one...i will sell it cheap...then u just gotta scrounge up a lefty....

Sounds like the 28 Ghost outboard speeds might be similar to same power on a 27' Activator..?

Did the red 1989 Ghost 28 pop up yet on Long Island with the new owner?
