Can a 280 exhaust divider plate be used on a fishing motor? Havent got it in my hands yet to check out the differences but can it be modded to fit a 200 chest?

No. Fishing motor dividers are very common. Shouldn't have a problem finding the correct one. A 260 divider will work also. 280 and Drag are different

I may have one, I'll check when I get home. If I do I will send it to you.

Well I just spend about an hour comparing the two. The bolt holes all line up. the countours are the same and the fishing motor gasket seals everything it needs to seal. There are a few mismatched holes in the gasket to water holes on top but those lead to an open cooling water plenum anyway. The side ports leading to the water jackets are smaller and are straight walled instead of flared out like the 200 plate . The 280 side port openings fit fully within the 200 gasket openings. They could be opened up to fit with a simple stepped end mill cut or flared out like the 200 plate is . The unsupported holes in the upper gasket leading to the water plenum are unsupported in both plates and as long as they are unobstructed really do not need to be modified . Divider height, width and length is the same. Then I'm looking at the side ports and I see the marks from the old gasket and they line up with the 200 gasket and I'm really getting confused. That about the time I figured out that it isnt a 280 plate at all. Its a 225 or 260 plate. I guess thats what I needed anyway so good news. Best $50 Ive ever spent.

280 is nothing like the 225/260 plate it has a coil mounting plate and different mount holes, the latter its best use is to provide a place to mount the coils is all the benefit, but ive made really nifty ones out of cdm plate that look almost like the hipo plate from a distance

Well, I bought a 280 plate or at least what I thought was a 280 plate and the seller thought it was a 280 plate. Good thing it wasnt. I suppose if youve ever held a 280 plate or seen one you'd know it wasnt one but try to find a good pic of a 280 plate somewhere. It looked the same as a 260 plate from the outside to me and i figured the differences were in the inside. When I got it and there really werent any differences I just let go of the assumption that it was a 280 plate. Still pleased silly about that. $50 is a good score for a 260 plate.
