1500 xs mid decisions

I hate the slow two ram trim system, ugly hoses, ugly cylinders, pump inside the boat and non bia mounting. Out of it all I suppose the biggest bother of it is the crappy bolt pattern. Has anyone successfully and more important cleanly adapted this motor to a new style clamp/swivel assembly. Looking at the late 3 cyl 60 hp mid I think I could make that work or if I have to find another 2.5 15 in clamp/swivel assembly and adapt it to that.

I know a guy who adapted v-4 cross flow omc's to a cut 15" L4 mid. Works well and lite. An inline 6 would be easy.

The 60 hp with the shorter swivel works great. You can cut down a standard V6 one but then you dont have the side supports. Pro 50 Yamaha works well also with the shorter swivel.
