DEI car
The perfect finish would be 1st Jr., 2nd Waltrip, 3rd Green and 4th Skinner. That way I'd kick some major butt with my fantasy Nascar team. :D

The first one across the finish line.
Provided he don't get disqualified.
Since there's no more #3 and Elliot has gone to driving a Mopar, can't really get an interest.

Probably a DEI car. So I would have to say Jr. #8.

I would like for Jr to win. It was nice seeing him in victory lane tonight. Kids okay by my book.

Just hope it's one of the Generic Motors darlings. Can't stand
anymore bitchin' or rules changes. Wouldn't a Lil' E win just
be about perfect. Unbelievable! Steve

Gotta agree with little E. But Id never count out Gordon either. If the 500 is anything like the Bud shoot out its going to be a great race.
...8 car. The boy was raised and tutored by the master. If he don't blow, he'll go....to victory lane.
Just My Opinion.....it doesn't have to be yours. :p

Theres going to be alot more pitstops, and if D.E. s pit crew is anything like last year he does'nt have a chance.

I think the guys in the cars with their gear on can't interview that well,Bodine looked goofy and was hardly understandable.Of course that is natural with him.:D
C-mate too,It doesn't matter about Jr's pit crew if they are close he'll take up the slack.Last to 1st in 8 or so laps.He has the power to almost drive away.I think the accident senario is the determining factor for the fastest cars, staying out of trouble.

02-09-2003, 11:09 AM
Racemore, good point, but it did seem he was more focused than the rest. Also, AMAZING no one wrecked last night with all the bumping going on. That will be a big factor in the race. As for the pit crew, how many times has a good pit won a race ?
Racemore
02-09-2003, 11:30 AM
yea,Ricky Craven had the Tide car all over the track.Luckily he didn't take somebody out.Jeff is very focused, his divorce is the center of attention but I think he will drive harder I single man. He's fast too.As far as pit crews they are very much apart of the outcome sometimes.I think the pit /race strategies in the closing laps determine quite a few races.Crew Chiefs can make or break a finish. The Earnhardt/Waltrip combo is very tough in Daytona.I just hope for a safe clean race so we can see the best of the best that day get what they deserve whoever it will be. It's killin me I won't be spending 4 days camping in the infield this year.It doesn't get much better than that on land.

Top 4 cars from Childress and DEI. Makes sense. I know they used to share wind tunnel results and had an association. Both have strong restrictor plate engine programs too. Harvick's 6th fastest.
To bad Little E didnt get pole, but at least he can have fun in the 125 now.

Hope Mark Martin stays out of "The Big One". I don't think Green will get the drafting help like Little E. I'll the Red Rocket to win while praying for my 6 car.

It ought to be an interesting race with the smaller fuel cell. Lots of pit stops and guys running out of gas. I heard they only get some where between 34 to 38 laps per tank. May even see no tires or 2 tire pit stops.

Seems like Sprague is starting off about up to par. Wiped out a bunch of cars in practice.
Watch out for the wiley ole vets to make themselves known before this one's over. And if it comes down to a battle in the pits, Kenseth.

..with majority...
The DEI/Childress restrictor plate program is probably the best.
Funny how Dale Sr just hated Restrictor plate racing yet he was the master of it...so we are pulling for Junior....I like Waltrip too.
Too me Waltrip is emerging as a true spokesperson and fine example of NASCAR WCR.
Hard to Believe its been 2 years since Dale left us!!!

That was an eloquent move down pit road if I've ever seen one! DEI has it. It would have been interesting if Mikey and jr. would have been nose to tail out of the pits. I still think NASCAR is a bunch of bull****, I can't wait for the F1 opener. I'm going to root for Mikey. I would have really liked to see Dale sr. wish of driving a f1 car, he'd have brought some excitement I'm sure!
yea I guess kirk bush needed a caution so he used his car this time, maybe he needs a rear veiw mirrow on the drivers side

T-Rex,
You talk, I talk! I guess we'll all see what's what tomorrow. One thing is for sure there are more Mopars this year than last. Less Fords and Pontiacs. I wish Olds, Buick & Mercury never droped out. Wouldn't it be interesting if a Caddy was in there with a Norstar V8?

The DEI cars are strong will be the 8 or the 15, but it would be nice to see the Wood brothers win again at the big one. They just need to keep Ricky out of trouble to final laps then turn him lose they could be the surprise.

How about that Ryan Newman crash.A testament to NASCAR safety.Earlier I was watching a thing on Fox sports about wrecks and it had the Busch Qualifing wreck where the car hit the wall hard twisting the car around and then getting hit in the front taking the center and right side totaly out leaving nothing but the drivers seat and he got out of the car unscathed. He got in another car and qualified later that day.Unreal.The car looked like it was 20' long after the impact. Also a Michael Waltrip crash where he hit the wall so hard the front planted in the wall and the rest of the car peeled around the wall untill it pulled the front out.it looked 25'long.

Mikey was good. Earnhardt couldn't go 500 miles, so what's new?
Ford's were coming. The only thing that kept Busch back was Chevy's gangin' up on him. Martin was comin' and they would have been as tough as the Chevy's.
Glad to see Robby Gordon run good. He's a way better driver than his record shows.
