Has anyone hit the Buy-It-Now? ... maybe they aren't worth that much (at least not yet)

Was thinking same.

Won't really know what it's worth Ronny until it sells.

I will say thats the cleanest one I've seen and looks to be original. Since same didn't poh poh it, it must be.
Seems like a good buy to me if so.

One bid at $4,900 ... did not meet reserve ... probably a shill, I was stunned to see a bid that high. The real market for motors in the 100 cubic inch range is usually closer to $3,000

Even that rare and that clean? (assuming it was orig) I thought it might might pop for decent money.

Supply and demand have to both be high to raise a price. A Chrysler lacks the demand side vs a Merc.

Same economics apply to the 20H ... not rare at all with 4,000 units made; but the tremendous demand makes the price stay up there despite the fact that its not rare.

Yep.

I know I laughed for a long time when the old Mercs went nuts 20 yrs ago.
I remember selling my last 20H for a grand and feeling like I raped the guy. Soon after that, anything/everything, pre-1960 Merc became "Racing" and guys were buying (given to them) KG-7's, parting them out on e-bay as "antique race parts".
I knew it was here when I sold the last of my real race parts to a collector that showed up wearing Mk 55K ear rings. Could hardly keep from laughing until I was done counting his money.
Course I'm sure he ended up pedaling it at twice that.

Personally, I would rather have the Chrysler way more than a similar Merc just because I've seen enough of the Mercs and ten yrs from now, who knows what it would be worth ;)

100ci range..........If that was a KR15 in that condition I bet it would have sold for $7500

I don't recall seeing one break $4k, much less $7k

Did Bud Clark ever sell his CC or CCC? They were both beautiful and 100% original as best I could tell ... last I heard, he was still "asking" ... and it was a lot less than $7500
