i keep burning solenoids up on my trim. im using sierra marine 12v solenoids. it usually happens when im running trim hard (i.e. making a drag run) it happens on both up and down sides.
ive got everything wired with 10 awg wire except for wire coming from switch. i have ground (-) jumped from one to another then to ground. is this a problem???
any one experience this???? or have recomendations for a heavier/better solenoid??
thanks
cody

a buddy of mine was having relay problems for him trim i took so rubber isolater like that mount a msd box and mount the relays on those no problems i dont think its the duty cycle your putting on the relays its the solid motor mounts causing your problem now after saying that i should have asked if u have 3 ram trim system with relays on the motor it self if u got a single ram with trim pump and relays in the boat forget what is said lol

this is old thread but i figured id respond......bored at work:rolleyes:
i have a 3 ram ....i made a solid bracket to mount solenoids to the front of the laser injection.
after buying the mercury ones off ebay..........i havent had a single issue. guess it was the sierra ones oreileys was carrying????
