http://www.flipenterprises.com/ - this is the Inn closest (walking distance) to the Saturday evening rendezvous at Sport Island Pub

http://www.innatthebridge.com/ - this is also close to the Pub; docking available

http://www.superior.net/~lanzi/ - nice upscale restaurant with a big deck; casual

http://www.eagleshore.com/ - just some photos

http://www.ReserveAmerica.com/usa/ny/nort/ - NYS campsight; nice lakeside sights
- sights 204 to 213 recommended......214 - 216 are very good but inpossible to turn a trailer around in but with a waterfront sight you could just leave her in. I'm at 207.

Liqui-Fly
02-14-2003, 12:42 PM
Tents are fine and the sites are on the water if you book early. Check out the old Rondak Romp Post from last year. I have pics of the water front sites that we stayed at.

All I can say is these guys like to run fast.I have never run so fast for as long on the dam run sunday.Water was a little rough on the way back.17 miles on the rev limiter, I kept an eye on the temp and water pressure thinking something was going to fail?
Having attended last year the only thing that bummed me out was those dam mosquitoes at the camp site!

Liqui-Fly

The mosquitos won't be as hard on the "soft" folks this year. This winter has been brutal:D ;)

I showed up the 1st year with a tow car and boat. That was my campsite.
Everyone else camping had.. camp gear???? go figure.
Doubt I can make it this year, too early for me.
I'm sure this is getting bigger year by year. ???
Lots of great boats and great people to meet.

Helmut the ladies will be there but those that don't enjoy the outdoors and hours of boat talk generally don't have that much fun;) The Inn is pretty good for those types of things. Hopefully in years to come the region will see the need for a waterfront hotel. My wife will be in and out with Samantha but she's been known to find other things to do that weekend.

I'm just joking guys and really am not interested in radar runs either. I will not do anything of the sort as a Rondak Romp event ect. Guys get killed when the guns come out and I don't want it on my ass. The past two years have been safe and a good time.

As long as everyone is Screamin and Flyin safely, I could care less who gets 2 mph more on the top. I had a great time last year, and can't wait till this year. Hope to have a really great time this year cause I got a site on the water, and I know what to expect this time. :)

thats a great Idea. Hey I know Gregs brother is NYPD and maybe he can get us a radar sign that we can put out in the flats over here. that would be the **** if we set it up on a the little skiff he has.
just one question, how many digits are on those signs?

Liqui-Fly
02-27-2003, 04:36 PM
I don't know. There was a time I started to try and find the components to build one but I decided having some hoodlums from LI steal one would be much easier:D

Is that a recent picture? How can you get any work done up there without a heated garage? The weather is only warm enough for a month and by the time you are done rigging it is winter again. Boating must be semi-annual up there. Geez I thought it was bad here.

PhastBoat
03-10-2003, 01:08 PM
Looks like Mr. Clean has the answer for the two or thre digits on the "Your Speed" signs. Humm? Now how do we get it to float?

Should be faster than last year. A little hareder to drive though.

Guess we'll see after the ice goes away. Looks great sittin in the snow!!

not to worry about speeds...I have the world`s slowest Stoker <according to ````Fly> and he has the world`s fastest Stratos.it`s not really about how fast your boat is,it`s just a great get together with some boatlovin` hotboaters.John Tiger was there last year, and I think speed ranges were from 60 to 100 plus.you`ll have a great time I guarantee..IMHO:cool:

Eauto,
Go to reserve america on the first page of this thread. You have to get site for 3 days min. Camping fee was $48.00 + $9.00 reservation fee total $57.00 on your credit card. Or call 1-800-456-2267. Maybe Dutch could transfer the site to you and save some bucks and head aches, I don't know. Worth a try. Worst they could say is no.

This is an early bird crew. We all like to be in the water by 9 and absolutely nmo later than 10. The run to the damn on Sunday morning got kicked off a little late last year and we eneded up coming back in noon time chop. Fill them up Saturday night and be ready to run Sunday morning. The rest of the days are simply play play play. Gas is available on the water but most tow into town and fill up. The launch ramps are very nice and never packed this time of year so it is a simple deal.

Last year right around this time is when i finished my vector. One year later i ordered carpet for it. Last year i got it to a point and was like have to run it now put way to much money into it not to run it, and ran it for the season every now and then i order something for it to make it look better or perform better. The only thing that made it look good last year was i was able to pull the nice blue out of the gel coat so it looked good you know you have to look good as you pass some of teh other boats on the lake.

Dave, do you know the campsites well? I coming with a 32ft motorhome thursday evening and were staying on a waterfront site 209. I just want to make sure this thing fits. i noticed some sites were on the small side last year.

There are those that camp and those that stay at the Flip Inn and the bed and breakfast. At the motels there is a nice state launch ramp that you guys can put in at. The camp site has it's own launch. I'm home today....Sammy is a little sick. If anyone has any questions please call me.

I have to bolt the motor on tonight and put the seats in. Scattered showers Thursday and Friday and the weekend looks nice. Showers are good....they keep the idiots off the lake. I'm splitting for the day....everyone have a safe trip and get ready to burn some gas.
