Geo, NO guru here...but we put a 225ProMax on one and if I remember correctly it ran 80.

With a 225hp 80mph the one I drove had a Bridgeport for a little while I got it to the mid to high 80's once they are over 80 they are all over the water because they have no pad great boats I loved driving it

Thanks. We are repowering one for a customer. Has a 225x on it now. He's looking for warranty and of course price. New engines are so heavy. Leaning towards a 150 HO ETEC. Think it should run mid to upper 60's

Michael, you are right, a hand full to drive!! The PM was in break in mode.
Geo, that ETEC should make for a nice and user friendly package.

150-200hp lighter weight motors should help with handling. I knew a couple friends that had them in the 'old' days and remember they didn't handle so well if you got them running over 70. I agree the lack of a pad hurts the higher speed handling, but they never were built to run more then 60's anyway.
