Saturday i was over at lake parker in lakeland fishing a tournament with my son, forty or so boats in the water at the ramp, everyone standing around at the dock telling fish stories when all of a sudden a club member fires up his motor and booooom engine cowl flys about 40 ft in the air lucky it did not hit anyone, never thought that much fumes could build up under a cowl, pretty impressive. Ive seen motors catch fire but blow a cowl that high, man

I saw a guy do it with an old chrysler after he gassed the **** out of it with ether. I still giggle about that. :)

Yea I worked on a ficht that blew the cowl about 50ft away and it landed in the water between two boats. Cowl was not even scratched but it did blow all the mounts off. The motor burned for a bit and had to change the harness. The mechanics at the marina wouldnt touch it. When it started one of the mechanics yelled to the other you owe me $50.00, they bet we wouldnt ever get it running :p
