Don't think it's orig but it's still pretty slick.

Correct, its not at all original, its a collection of parts that merely fit together. It has some value, but its obviously less than he is asking. Its been on eBay for almost a year, continually being relisted.

The special parts are:

A lower unit from a McCulloch "Custom" model. Its a full gear shift unit with a different ratio and prop shaft size. The early version like this was known for coming apart and dumping the prop, propshaft and gears in the water

A late series 630 starter with the electro mechanical bendix engagement like cars of that era

A middle series rotary valve with the cast-in flow balance chamber right behind the carbs. A carry-over from the 60hp that wasn't helpful.

3 Carter fuel level overflow bowls for floatless operation.

Doesn't have the fuel distribution block mentioned in the instructions

Looking closely I notice that it does not have a flywheel to rotor belt. This may be because the flywheel isn't really a 630 flywheel and has the wrong cog pitch on the pulley. When I first saw it I noticed the distributor pulley is not a 630 distributor pulley with guides. There are no guides on the rotor on the 630 design, I am not sure how long the distributor belt would stay on without the correct distributor pulley. Regular 75hp heads with thermostat housing ... means internally, it does not have the 630 hemi combustion chambers and matching pistons with thinner rings.

Basically, this has been a static display.

Guys does the exhaust exit out the bottom of the cavatition plate or am I missin something? Gary

It goes thru the cavitation plate out the back. The back of the cav plate is an ellipse-like marquise cut or football shape ... as if you cut the end off an envelope and pinch it open a little.

The later style "2 piece" Custom lower unit uses a 9 inch wide flat cav plate with an above cav plate exhaust outlet

Thanks Mark75H I couldn't see that in the pics that were posted. Gary
