Hey guys, I was seeing if anyone knows this member personally or talk to him (jakedesnake)? I bought a motor from him off here and can not make contact with him. I sent a cashier check to him on dec. 13 and it was cashed on dec. 24. I've tried calling, texting, email, pm and posting on his thread which was deleted. I don't want to accuse him right off of anything being something might have happened but would like to know what's going on here? It's starting to look bad on my end though seeing I sent money to him almost a month ago.

That was my plan for today. Is go fill a police report, I have our whole text conversations on when I sent money and when he would get back in town and be sending the powerhead, along with cashier check receipt and had my friend at the bank print out the scanned check sign with the cash date. So I'm gonna save the texts to a disk and make copies and go from there to start the process of taking him to small claims court.

Bad thing is I had my cousin text him who lives in Florida about the motor a couple days and he responded back right away saying it was sold and posted on his thread that it is sold. So I'm not really sure what he is up too?

I just spoke with my buddy that is a detective about it and he's getting with a friend that's a financial detective for the state. But he said I could go ahead and skip the county sheriff and go straight to state police and file. with the info I have they should be able to put a warrant out. It's a good start for now hopefully Greg can find something out before it goes any further

Nothing I have heard. I still can't get in contact with him. My detective buddy gave me a website to fill a report that goes straight to like the FBI that then gives it straight to the appropriate place so if gets files right away. So I've filled that out along with copies of our text conversations since day 1 of contact along with cashier receipt and invoice of when he cashed the check.

I contacted him last month about a lower he had for sale for a friend of mine and he drove up here to drop it off and my friend met him and bought it from him. I tried the Sheriff's department in his home county and the only help I could get was that they would issue a warrant for his arrest if I would come to Michigan and sign a complaint personally. I subsequently found out that I could file through my local police department and it would go through channels all the way to his State, which I did. I don't know what happened on the other end, but it had been almost a year and he called begging me to let him ship me that part along with a full refund for my trouble. I believe that both parties should call their local police or detective bureau and get advice. In some states, Georgia for one, threatening prosecution to induce someone to do something the are reluctant to do can constitute extortion, so don't threaten it, just do it. The member in question has ignored Private Messages to contact Administrator immediately.

The best path is your local police department, or at least it was in my case. They came to my office, filled out the report and I got a reply within a week or less if I remember right.

My buddy that is a detective said for me where I live and it being such a little town that he wasn't sure if much would get done bc they may not handle something of this nature and that the website. Rob our first priority is helping to get this resolved while at the same time preventing it from happening again with the same member. It is two clicks of the mouse to ban him, but that severs any communication between him and the buyers through the website. You can rest assured that we are watching him very closely and would not allow any additional ads. He has not logged onto the website in over a week and this is monitored dozens of times daily. The latest ads have recently had this warning posted.

Local sheriff, state or county level should have an economics crime unit. It may not be a fast process, but if they can find the guy, he will lose. Getting your money back could take some time, depending on how much of a degenerate he is.

Wow! Jakedesnake is unbelievable! Everyone hates a thief but then tac on a big time liar to that. Lucky for me I have a few good friends that are detectives to help me, one also being a internet safety detective to do some research. To start off, yesterday I texted the guy from the ol lady's phone trying to give him a chance before pressing charges. This is what I said:

Hey this is Csmyj from s&f. I've spoke to the mods on s&f and know that another guy (freeride99) also sent you money for the motor. That's now interstate fraud and is a felony. We've contacted each other and will be filling a report. I don't want to do this but something needs to be done. If you could just please contact me today to work something out we can avoid this. I know **** happens and times are tough and that's the only thing I can think that's happened. Bc I know that another member bought your lower and said you were a nice guy and even brought it to him. Now he was in Tennessee in gaitlinburg and pigeon forge, along with Disney world and now in Texas. All with proof on Facebook and Instagram with post from yesterday. Also check his last visit on here and he got on about 20mins after I sent the text from my fiances phone. So he is live and well traveling it up on what I would say is the money he stole.

So as of this morning I filed a report on the website for internet theft giving to me from my describe friend. And I will be going to the local police along with state. These will put a warrant out for his arrest.

I've been following this thread for a while, not weighing in, and hoping you'd have success in getting your money back.

I too have had a couple bad deals in the recent past ...nothing that quite went this far though. 1 suggestion I would give you is to take screenshots of ALL of this digital evidence you are uncovering. It probably goes without saying, but establishing a history of continued negligence will only help your case in the long run. The more evidence - the better.

My buddy bought a lower from this guy around the same time all this went down. Saturday he got his new 19' action all finished up and took it out for a test run and the lower made it about 200 yards and locked up. Needless to say he wasn't very happy. Hope this guy gets whats coming to him.

best move you could have made. print your phone records, pm's with jake, bank statements, cancelled check, return reciept from postage if you have it, anything that has to do with this case and keep it in a file. periodically call the deputy who took your report and ask how things are coming along. let him/her know what you have that will help your case.

Agreed if it was sent USPS it is a Federal Interstate Mail Fraud Crime. But if there was no tracking showing proof of delivery the Postal servive will place it in some basket only to get lost in the mix. Plus the current day Postal Service is worthless as Tits on a Bore Hog.

If you do pursue via USPS when you do the complaint. Either do it online or send it to them registered return reciept. And dont hesitate to follow up every 30 days.

Myself and 19 others were involved in spme Franchises once. We took the franchisor to court and Won big $$$$$$$. Only for the corporation it was umbrellowed under to go belly up. We got the federal Trade commission involved and they got money. It wasn't even enough combined to cover the legal fees. We then filed with the USPS for Interstate Mail Fraud which they jumped all over. Some Postal inspector sat on it and then retired. When all the paperwork was finally located the statute of limitations had expired.

Federal Interstate Mail Fraud for sure, Ebay deal, used PayPal, been down this road with personal experience, it does work but it's a long process at times. Most important part of contacting the local law enforcement for his jurisdiction is "DOCUMENTATION", if you don't have enough of it you may be "S.O.L.". It worked for me, never had to leave the house nor appear in his home town court as all the documentation was self supporting and was able to get 100% of my money back, plus the guy did 30 days in the slammer and on Probation for 5 years.

Not yet, I talked to local sheriff here, FBI investigator for online stuff, filled a report online for online fraud. Trying to get ahold of his sheriff department to fill a report and see what they can do?
