Negative 9 degrees this morning, 0 for a high. Its about 15 to 20 degrees warmer in Alaska right now. I'm sure other people are having just as much fun freezing their azz off, but this just makes me hate Kansas even more. In the summer it will probably be 100 deg in the shade with 85% hunidity. What's it like in Florida right now? If I had the money I would be there right now (for good).

In North Fla its 47 at noon in the sun, feels like 25 with the wind. At 6pm its supposed to be in the teens with a single digit wind chill.
Temps in central Illinois.......Hi -7 Lo -12. Better than what they were predicting..... -18 Florida does make sense.

Guess I don't feel so bad now. Been to Chicago in the middle of winter once, hope I don't have to do it again. Wonder what northern MN is right now.

All you whiners should just be thankful we have global warming, or else it would really be cold. ;)

It's 56 in my backyard in The Oldest City. But supposed to make it to the mid 20s sometime over night. 40 for a high tomorrow. But 75 on SATURDAY and SUNDAY and maybe even higher Monday and Tuesday and I will be at the river. And we don't have that many snowbirds around here. Just DamnYankees.

Sounds like your complaining as well. And isn't that normal in your part of the world (you can keep it)? That's the difference.

Glad I could be some source of amusement. FYI we broke records both yesterday and today that were set almost 50 yrs ago, some longer. So yes, for around here, it's ****ing cold. The main deal is our plumbing isn't designed to do well in low temps. That is the reason why I have water dripping from every faucet, cabinets open, and the heat running. If you have never experienced broken pipes, I can assure you it's no fun at all.
BTW it sounds like you are crying a bit yourself. :)
We have finally worked our way up to zero. Don't sound all that warm untill you think about yesterdays -40 wind chills then it feels like it's darn near boating weather. We were in North Carolina last week and the ponds didn't even have ice on them. My sister was home and complaining about being cold. I asked her why they didn't bring coats since she grew up here and knows and she simply said, "We don't own coats". Hard to imagine not owning a coat but I guess if you live in Vegas there is no need. Hope your freezing damage is minimal Paul.

Oh it's not bad for me so much. Luckily my house is brick and on a slab plus I have insulated covers on all outside *****ets. The rental on piers was a mother****er! Floor was so cold if would feel like your bare feet would stick! ;) And the plumbing.... :leaving:

I believe it got down to 23 here in South La. That's cold for down here.
I've been on the north coast of Alaska, Prudhoe, Harrison and Camden Bay, when it was 10 and it felt about the same.

Not amused at all. I moved hear to get away from the crazy cold. Last couple years the weather has not been normal, way colder than it should be. It sucks big time, our plumbing is designed for the cold. The older I get the less my body likes it, things just don't want to move the way they should when it gets that cold.

Beautiful country up there though--sure beats Kansas all to hell. But the winters up there, definitely not for me.

Wasn't bad when temps were 32F + - 5deg, normal. But the last few years its been way colder. Always had a week or 2 of -30 but normally around the freezing mark. Now we seem to get cold for months at a time.
