Picture is kind of small but it looks like a Starflite or Enchanter? 12K US is wayyy high IMO. It would have to be perfect to fetch that much.

Picked my dads Baja Fish and ski up for 11500.00 in mint condition. It is also a 1989 20.6 with a 1996 2.5L Merc. Runs 69GPS any day. Also came with 3 stanless props and all the goodies. The guy moved across the country and gave us everything:)

Thanks to Anthony for posting this for me!!!
I have been talking to the sales guy at the marina, he said the owner was firm at $18,000.00 CDN ($12,000.00 USD), I offered $15,000.00 CDN ($10,000.00 USD), he said he will take $16,000.00 CDN ($10,700.00 USD). He says the boat is extremly mint, not a scratch on it, this guy is only the second owner. It has a new powerhead right out of the crate from Merc.
Tell me what ya think.
Thanks

The dealer selling it is Fenelon Falls Marina on consignment.

Well I like mine alot. It's on the heavy side but I like the classic lines. It's not super fast but it moves right along, it won't set any speed records that's for sure. Boating isn't just about speed though but I'm always looking for ways or ideas to make it faster. It's a good alround boat.
I think if you offered him 15K and he said 16K I'd say to him I'll split the differance he'd go for it. This is if YOU really want it though. If he says no then leave your number I bet he calls you back. If it sells for what he's asking then so be it. There are plenty of others out there.
I still say that's too much my self but, then again I like to burn the roof of my mouth!:D

Guys, I have a friend with a Checkmate identical to that, and they are a PIG in the water. I would not pay over 12k and that is with the new powerhead.

That appears to me, to be a Spectra 201.

Here is a picture of it, from the 1989 brochure. Hope that helps. :)

That boat would be sweet in the open bow model.

NEAT PICS thanks for posting C-C...
Looks like the boat could use a nice 300PM for some decent numbers

But what happened to all the seating up front?
Mine has nice long seats up front for laying out. Not to many people like to be up there when I go over 65 though:eek:

The marina also has a 1991 24' Warlock V hull with a 454, Bravo 1 drive and thru hulls, and trailer for $18,000.00 CDN ($12,000.00 USD) I'm going to have a look at.

I have gone through fenelon falls marina before, and they seem very knowledgable. I bought my tunnel off them, and one of my dads friends bought a $60,000 boat off them. I also took a motor of mine in for a carb cleaning. They also have flexable hours (atleast they did in the summer)

Okay RT enought of calling my boat a pig. Yes is know it is heavy and tough to get great speed out of but overall it is not a bag boat. It does ride very well in the rough stuff and carries a load well. RT just for your reference you drove it and saw 69+ on the GPS the year you owned banana-rama
Checkmate's always hold their value well. Remember an new repalcment 21ft. Pulsare will cost you $35 cdn no motor. I agree with others saying it's worth about $15. These boats have a great fit and finish and will withstand anything you want to throw at it.
What is the exact motor and prop they are including with it. The Hull is defenitaly a Spectra 201 and requries set back to make it run well.
If you want more speed that 70 mph keep shopping.

OK,
I will stop calling them pigs.
But they are slow, it took you a lot of time to get yours to run well (and it does run well).
It is well known that you cannot beat the quality of Checkmates, and they have a great ride.
Up untill the Pulsare they were never fast, and that boat is shocking fast.
You can call my money pit a Pig, cus it sure might be. But we still have a race in May, and we will not know who is gonna win tell then.......equal power, equal length.
RT
RT Your On!
May it is, and we will race from my dock to yours. The winner being the first to pass the end of your dock. The loser buy's the the Bubba!
My money is on my boat beacuse I don't think yours will be ready. If you are actually floating in May I will probably have to buy Bubba......

Here's mine......looks the same to me and I'm running 69 GPS @ 6200 with a 25P Tempest and 13" S.B. with a close to stockie 2.5 200 Merc.......eating 2'-3' Bay chop with no problem.......
er...ah....except I just replaced the transom:eek:
Better check the foam for saturation.........
the transom for ANY flex or delam.......
9-10k sounds right....

The Starflight is a great boat. I have heard of guy runninng in the upper 80's with 2.5 offshore power. Most of the rigs run high 60's to low 70's. these boats require very little driving skill
