....there is an ignore button that works great. They can use it to miss out on all your posts and pics. Next time they whine, suggest they use it. :D :D :D

snowmanmtl
02-02-2003, 03:27 PM
your opinion and pics have the same value as anybody elses. Nobody has a right to tell you anything else. If they don't agree with your views or pics, as Rick says, they can use the ignore button. If you want to save space on the site you can always go back after a while and delete pics that are not relevent anymore.

you cant make everbody happy so dont try. post away and like snowman said you can go back and delete later. take it with a grain or salt good luck airride.

I guess being 3 1/2 months older, you can say things like that.

I just know if I was 16, lived around Hogh Springs and had a boat I wouldn't have time for posting. But that's just me. If I don't want to see your stuff I know how to skip over it. I don't really see a problem.

Never slowed me down. I don't even know what my post average is and don't really care.
If someone is concerned about posts per day when there can be over 6 pages of new threads, then it's they that have the problem.

Maybe the problem is "those" people need to post more? Ya! thats it. There should be a minimum posts per day that is required.
Sometimes reversing a thing can bring out the solution.

airide18
02-02-2003, 07:57 PM
Well they were so upset over my posting of pics and stuff that they cused me out over PM and on the thread,i gave them a chance to stop but they kept on going, and so did i i even told them to all read this post so they know how everone feels about me posting.:D

Personally, I think you ought to get off your ass and work yourself up to 2000 posts.........

hey brother your not alone!!

i came on S&F along time ago then he changed the format and about that time i changed jobs, well the new job gave me time at home when everyone else is at work so to entertain myself i log into scream and fly, i too have gotten flack for "enjoying myself" but it's my life to live and i will do what i want to be able to have fun before i'm gone

well turns out this place is great and i enjoy posting and then i end up meeting folks from the site and have had a blast getting more out of my boating because of this site!! :D

i feel it has taken my boating experience to the next level by giving us more info than we can get locally on tons of subjects and get togethers

YOU are the controller of your own destiny, if this site brings happiness and fun to you, then post away and become a part of what makes YOU happy, if they dont like it they dont have to do it, and they can go on and do what makes them happy just as easily!!

you can have a friend that is a golfer, but yet you dont golf, does that mean he should stop golfing just because you dont?
HELL NO!! you both should do what makes you happy!!

ROCK ON!!! changes in life will happen, nothing stays the same forever, no ones life should stay the same either, no ones hobby should stay the same or it gets old, use this site to put some spice in your boating life, you owe it to yourself to enjoy your own life the way you see fit to do it, if you live "your life" through "someone elses eyes" all you see is thier life and yours will pass you by ;)

you cant please everyone but you have to please yourself!!

if you look back at your life, think about all the folks youve known over the years, quite a few i bet, time has it's way of bringing new things into our lives, all the folks you knew have gone on to things that thier life brought to them, and are probably having fun doing what they want in thier life, most likely it's different with each one, and thats not wrong, it's just "individually different"

years ago i was into the car crowd, it got old, it was the same old same old every weekend, i knew alot of folks, i got interested in hot boating, they didnt, some got into fast bikes, i didnt, i dont see them anymore, thats not a bad thing because they are doing what they enjoy, and so am i :) when the car thing started breaking up i thought it was a bummer, well it really wasnt because new fun was coming my way!! and thiers!!
my boating was getting to be somewhat the same old same old, scream and fly changed that
someday i will go on to the next thing that life brings my way, and ultimately lose touch with folks i know now, just like the folks i knew then, well it's not a bad thing, especially when they, as well as i, are enjoying our time on this planet, it's our right to enjoy ourselves in what ever way we choose

so have fun in what your life has brought to you!!

always remember, your choice may not be the same as your friends and family, but they are not living YOUR life, YOU are, they are giving you grief now, but in the big picture who are you supposed to make happy? you or them? well thats pretty damn simple to figure out :) and they sure as hell are gonna do what makes them happy regardless of what folks tell them!! so rock on buddy!!

the ones close to you will be the first to hurt you when you dont go thier way, but your not wrong for going your own way, and they are not wrong for going thiers, we are after all "individuals" with our own feelings of what makes us happy, we will never see all things the same and arent supposed to

your fellow poster :D

one thing good about being on the puter alot and having one phone line is the phone solicitors always get a busy signal :D

hey when ya see good lookin boats whats a man ta do hahahaha then................wildman posts his stuf hehehehehe

when you cant hit the water S&F is the best place to be, talk with multiple people at one time, see all the boat pics, see all the projects, read some great tips and info, see how others engineer thier stuff, read the tech tips...........man it's great ya know?!!

i'll probably end up going full circle back into the old cars someday but with this website it will take a long time before that happens!!
:D in the big picture of the hobbies ive had, boating has had the nicest people as a whole and the waterways are better looking than a highway and to find us you have to have a boat ;)

i sure wish i had the money to hook up the talon to the old van and start traveling the country with a laptop and do some visiting to all the spots everyone goes boating here on the boards

it's been alot of fun so far meeting folks and traveling, the rumble really was a special event, soooo many people and everyone was having fun, really cool !!

Airide, I know I have been amazed at the strange people I have met in my limited travels. Sometimes makes you wonder.....and makes you appreciate the good people you know more. I have no urge to meet anymore strange people. By strange, I mean they seem to have no common sense, or could care less about anyone else, or keeping their word. Also the ones who are just plain idiots, and hose things up but cover that up or don't even notice. Lots of the huge stock losses where from the idiots running things in the last year & a half.

And a stock 26 chopper had me seeing Jesus at 90, this one bites hard , requires no trim, leaves a very small rooster, and it can be driven with one hand at 103-105 mph.I bought an HST and had that well into the one teens the first five times I drove it. I been wasting my time on stuff like this. Paid for a couple of boats though...and cars too.:)

My boats really are snowed in, until I go plow them out. No point to that:rolleyes:

I'm talkin to the skin recores/stringers/ floors and transoms. I can usually get a boat done in two weeks and have done a couple dozen in the past 2-3 years. That viper in the above pics was ran into a seawall at high speed, smashed BAD. Bought it for 600, sold the motor for 2200. I left the front all smashed and just bonded the deck back down where they cut it off. All of the coring was rotten and the transom bad. Why I did it i do not know, but I have had more fun in that boat than anything else I own. A blue/silver one took it's place this winter and I gave the other one to a friend. My HST and the new viper look killer next to each other, same sparkly blue/silver schemes. With two more bliue/silver editions would round out my fleet right now. All the other stuff is going. Four boats is'nt too bad is it?, or do I need help?:p Let's rig up my 2.0 on that bayliner there and a 26 chopper I know of and....................................

airbrushed on the dash of the new one. Preists make me nervous lately! Lifes too short for all that gobbeldeegook anyhoo, I will pass no judgement untill my time. Common sense should be the religion of the land, but seeing that is in very short supply, I guess something else had to do instead.

I wanted to hang my 1500 I6 on there, but I don't think it is up to it. You see the lines in the floor in there, and how that board is jagged? The gas cans about cut through the hull! I could see light in the marks on the sides to the outside. Maybe 1/4 hull skin under there is all. Had to repair the stringers some, and only replaced the stock transom. I would have to glass knees in there and then no place for the gas. I'd get laughed off the lake in a 16' Bayliner anyway, so I think I'll find the right boat for the job:D I was just fixing it to run temporary and sell at the time.

I had four boats and sold one. Wife was happy, but now she wants me to get down to two....or get rid of one of the four vehicles I have that I don't drive....:( I have to admit I'm getting tired of all the stuff around here, so some things are going in the spring. Too much hassle, not enough room. Should have that truck out of here soon too.

You been through boats like I been with cars! I finally got up to all my vehicles are '92 and newer. Went a million times to auctions and repo lots. Got to clean up the boats now.

You only get so much for $200!!;) It looks much nicer now. I just need new seat covers to make it look real good. I posted the whole repair in the glass section under Bayliner transom. Had to paint the motor(leftover '89 ford mustang white!) and got a new skeg welded on for $60. I have to put an anode on it yet. Now I want to get a setback for it, you have to trim it to the moon to make it run fast. I just repaired it to sell at the time, but I might have to add a board inside for the jack. It is only a 90hp rated boat, and that motor is 275lbs. It is fun to play with, and I wonder if a plate will get me more speed from reduced trim angle. I think it runs 40, forgot to get the # off the prop so I don't know what it is yet. Something to do until I get a faster boat.:)

Thanks guys, as you can see this was a cheater transom, and did not go all the way across even. If I did it again, I would cut at the hole for the motor cables, and lift the well out. Smoothing off the outside skin was a pain to be avoided if you can. Was not that bad to do, just time; and the next one will be faster. Just happened that the rest of this boat was save-able too, so it came out nice. Wish I had more of them. ;) I had to buy a strap to hold the motor up when I picked it up, cause I thought it would fall off by the time I got 10 miles home! It had punched holes in the skin I had to cut/grind out, and mat back in at the clamps. Skin was a good 1/4" or more.
