There is a reason Pro Marine quit handling them...IMO I would not run them in any motor I would build... Jay

Does that go for just the new ones or the older ones as well. These are a clean old set I was going to put new gold rings on and run. Now I'm having second thoughts....

Pins don't stay put? at least they never on Bridgeports. My 245hp needed at least 3 pistons on every re ring also.

These are top pinned so I don't think the pin could come out. Maybe it's the materail they are made of?

i was under the impression that mahle were "THE" pistons to run in a bp. i have a set and a couple spares, and a pile of stock 200 pistons, i was hoping i didnt need to buy anymore pistons :nonod:

Pretty sure the last BP pistons made for Merc were Wiseco or TRW. I know they were not Mahle, the originals were Mahle.
If I redo any race motor in the future would go with Wizzard and nothing else.JMO

I tossed a lot of good pistons for pins coming out before I heard of John's top pin mod. Wish I still had them.

Us1 top pinned mine. I hope they are ok. Is there a way of telling if they are the better ones?

Thanks Tim. I was planning on making it top guided as well. Hope this thing runs top notch. I got the head machined to 34cc with 1mm gaskets. Just don't want to leave any important stuff out of this thing while it's apart

I sell the Wizards for 2.4 the newer mahles made in TN had big time skirt failures. The older ones WERE better but they cracked at the wrist pin boss areas...Not trying to pee on your parade just from what I've witnessed... Jay
