Any opinions out there based on personal experience?
There older props were not so good.. I had a few 3 bl et's and a 5 blade et.. To this day I still have the 5 blade and its holding up ok.. The newer signature 4 blade et style is a awesome prop for my liberator . Hold's the boat nice thru the turns and not a ton of steering torque. Best on this prop was 95@6200 with a 250 pro xs 1.75 sporty.. That was with 2 people 1/2 tanks of fuel and the usual cooler and boat items..

I had a very nice Ron Hill Hoss Style 4-blade a few years ago.
Some of the stuff he has been selling on eBay has not been great, though, according to some posts on here.
Finally, there is a prop shop that blueprints them, resulting in supposedly very nice wheels. There is a link on my website.

Chad and Ron are not the same people.
I was recently at a local, high end prop shop w/a friend who had a a pair of Ron Hill props for his cat that he couldn't get to run right.
The local shop had them on their digital pitch machine and there was 3" difference between blades/props!
I asked the guy if he thought they were imported (read, Chinese) wheels that Ron put his name on and he said absolutely.

Ron is the father of chad where they make and sell props !!! I have had long talks with both Ron hill and chad hill about my props losing blades as Ron said they have had problems with them now by Ron saying that was it all the props they make I don't know as I only tried one type (THERE SIGNATURE ET ). I hope this was clear for EVERYBODY to understand

Ive seen the same. I was at Leading Edge and he was showing me a brand new Hill ET cut and how the pitch was all over the place, cup was inconsistent, etc.
By the time you made it right, you could have bought a real ET. This was within the last year.

Beef has slung 2 blades off 2 different hill props, 4 blade 30 and a 3 blade 34. I guess they were older. Ron Hill said send them to them they will help us out on new ones. I have to call Ron cause they were supposed to be making 36p wheels its been a year since I talked to them though.
Gary, Chaz told me that horror story sat.

I wouldn't buy a replacement blender blade from Ron, can't say anything about Chad's props buuut, some people went to a lot of time and effort to design props Hill has blatantly copied.

I am going to be trying a 30 Performance Propeller three blade drag copy. I ran a 28 on my boat with the stock motor but it was too tall. Now I have the power and I think the hull will like it.
The 28 I had was a very nice prop. Finished very nice. I'll give you guys an opinion of the 30 pitch prop. I think they are pretty close to Merc prop prices though. About $700 for the 3 blade ET and Drag style props.
I think the Hill ET copies are a little more round eared than the Mercs. Its great they stand behind them but how about when it takes out part of the lower unit.
ET price comparison:
Hill ET = $550 shipped
Performance Propeller ET = $699 shipped
Merc ET = $859 shipped

looks like the older style ron hill blades. chad has done a lot of changes to the new ones different process and metals and he will stand behind every prop he sells. I know a lot of people running them and they love them . they had issues many years ago before chad got involved now he runs the company everything was changed . hope this helps anyone local is welcome to run my wheel it a 32 labbed 4 blade et cut before buying one.

FACT : Surface piercing props sling blades at some point in their life cycle . IMO the worst stresses for a prop are power loading while blipping the throttle and repeated holeshots .

Breaking blades off the leading edge in not uncommon, when they are ripping the root out of the hub something is up. I'll stick with Hoss, untouched Merc wheels and Performance Propellers thankyouverymuch. :)

FACT : Surface piercing props sling blades at some point in their life cycle . IMO the worst stresses for a prop are power loading while blipping the throttle and repeated holeshots .I'm easy on it out of the hole and slow down for large wakes. I've heard that a stock 200 case won't last if it's surfaced, yet I've had one since 08 and it was 20 years old at that point, never had a problem. I run hard but I'm not abusive. Thats why I'm wondering about Hill props if they are treated properly. Anything abused is just when and not if.

I think the constant surfacing is the killer rather than holeshot and power loading
During holeshot and loading, the prop load is very even across the whole blade. When running surfaced, half the blade is loaded, the other half isnt, and its loading/unloading and an incredible rate. We've have all broken off a piece of metal by flexing it back and forth until it breaks and thats what is happening to a surfacing prop.
I say this because I have broken two props with my little stock 130 and it happened as soon as I started running them real high.

You HAVE to keep your props leading edges nick free. I saw that prop after it broke and it had a lot of little nicks. Rich Junker told me long ago to keep them clean. A nick is where the crack will start. Its easy to keep them cleaned up if you stay on top of it.

the "old" ron hill props were welded on blades. never checked for any kind of accuracy. poor metal and terrible welding.
the NEW chad hill props are now cast props with all new designs (many guys helped them). and are now made using
the lost wax casting process. much more consistent blades and better designs. no more problems with their props
