Somebody blows up a drag that isn't repairable, but has 4 excellent holes, I wouldn't have a issue pulling those sleeves and putting them in another block. I think a new sleeve is about 350 to purchase. + installation. Prolly not worth it for a steel sleeve fishing motor with cheap sleeves..
is this what you are referring too????

I have never tried to reuse a nic sleeve,I would question how round it would end up after the install, with nothing left to to finish hone.
i do however save good steel sleeves from blown standard bore blocks, and since it is our policy to bore all holes to the first oversize a used standard sleeve is as good as a new one...with less to cut,and NO compromise in quality,,, if anything a more perfect factory port map,Chris

Yes you have to straighten the sleeves after installation. Usually have to straighten a existing sleeve after installing a new sleeve anyway.
when is a good time to call Chris?

Roy I got a sleeve holder re-rounding tool from ruck years ago only thing i did not like was when you used it to push the holder it wound up making it too big like if it was 11/2 thousandts out of round and you were pushing it on the close side it did not move on the big side its just stretched it, used sleeves out of steel sleeve motors are very iffy, not because of the diameter but because of the height of the sleeve depending on how much they have been decked they can be too short also a sleeve holder that is way out of round or has some hail damage to it wont transfer heat requires a oversize sleeve i been to them dances normal ridged hone takes ALL out of round out of steel sleeves

Agreed. Mike Clemens makes a better tool. Nic sleeves get out of round a lot in normal use. Rare I have block with a 100 hours where one sleeve isn't out a touch. The racers will straighten them before a race without pulling a piston. We like them within 1/2 thous. Being aluminum they aren't that difficult to tweak. Ruck has always told me heating the block to remove and install a new sleeve usually has to tweak a sleeve. but saying using A used sleeve it would have to be in great shape. Rare when ruck installed sleeves for me he had to deck the block. No way would it be worth it on a steel sleeve..JMO

Yep!!! I have one block with the support rings. He pushed them on motors with big compression. Ruck will be missed for sure. I think mikes tool is easier to work. Also the factory nic motor sleeves are slightly different than buying a single new sleeve. When it comes time to renic them later it is going to be more work. But that is a different topic...
