I have never had my hands on SST-120 Merc but understand that the block and ports are stock. My question is whats is stock,150XR2 or what? I know that Mercs deffinitaion of stock is somewhat differant from most.

Stock SST-120 is stock SST-120. The XR2 is a different model. The SST-120 is essentially a 2.5 liter with thicker cylinder walls. Same ports as the 2.5. The 2.0/150 fat block fishing motor has completely different ports. Here is the race tech spec sheet for the SST-120.

You have to spin a 2 liter pretty hard to use an open chest, not saying some work there does'nt pay off...

I havent been to a race in a while but I really liked watching the lemans cars when the TDI's were silently going by the vette's like they were tied to the grand stands :D

must be lots of cheap ones in Europe?
Saying that they seem to have a habit or hoarding the old stuff as there is no old racing and it never comes up for sale
