Now my current set up is temporary...extremely temporary as a matter of fact in 2 weeks the boat is coming apart...110 more HP, pad is getting tinkered with and bottom blueprinted...back half of the floor is getting torn up, transom beefed up to accept 340 prop hp on a 550lb motor, splashwell delete and full interior replacement. It is going to be a painful investment...but the end result will be one serious manboat...
so my boat currently has a detweiler 6" hydraulic jackplate. ..hanging off the back is a 2008 merc 225 optimax. The highest I can jack the motor is about 1" below the pad..
I have a ron hill 28 Hoss copy which is okay...I am easily climbing to mid to high 70's and cracked 80 today...81.7 to be exact. I find I am having to overtrim to get the results I want from this prop.
I also have a trophy plus 4 blade...it's a 25 Pitch but has been cupped and worked so we will call it a 26 for the sake of being more accurate.
I have only taken it out 3 times with the trophyplus...my problem with this prop is when i have a passenger, it pulls left when I step on it.
I have hit 78 with the 4 blade but didnt hold her wide open too long because I was still breaking the gearcase in. It is now ready for some action...it is a 3.0L case done at Bob's and has sporty 1.62 internals. (Probably should have mentioned that earlier as it is pretty much the most important detail to choosing a prop lol)
when running this prop..the motor was 2.5"below the pad at the highest lift on my jackplate.but last weekend I raised it the 2 last holes on the motor..so we are maybe 1" to 1/2" below now. I have excellent water pressure at full lift and trim...so no danger in overheating..

what I am after is to find the perfect prop for my boat. I have had the computer flashed so there is no rev limiter. Both props have run up to close to 6000 rpm..the 3 blade 28 I ran out of room and felt I shouldnt trim more..but the bow wasnt lifting enough imo. The 4 blade gives me the lift I want ....and the 4 blade is giving my passengers a complex about their weight. Does anyone have a voyager with a similar set up? What props are you using and what numbers are you getting?
Thanks for your help guys.
Patrick

Put a 28p merc big blade chopper on it. If that won't lift the bow, nothing will.

The 28 is already spinning into 6ks..I wouldn't be better off w a 29 or 30?

The big blade choppers hold the r's pretty well. Another good prop might be a tempest with 27-29 pitch. A tempest with 27p is what i'm running in my sig pic. Mid eighties at 6000 r's Incredible hole shot and a good cruiser too. Running a 29p tempest now, a little faster at 5800 r's Near 90 mph. Still planes good.

A trophy plus is a wicked bow lifter too. The one I tried had so much lift that it was impossible to pull tubers with it. You couldn't see over the bow on my Venus because it was so high at low speeds. It ran great with little trim compared to any other prop I had.

Hydromotive 4 blades work really well on Voyagers with alot of HP. Really carries the bow!

Did you ever get the 250xs on the Hydrostream?
