Bought a 225 promax powerhead and two piece adapter and tuner. This will be almost a plug and play with the wiring? (Current motor is a 260,1997)I know the fuel system will have to be changed and possibly the water pump tube, not sure if the 98 vintage promax used a 3/4 tube. Am I forgetting anything?

1/2 water tube ifs its a drop on( complete) just remove the 260 fuel yours is a self contained fuel in the vst

Promax you bought is pre-mix, I was running 40:1. VST supplies your fuel so no fuel pump needed. 1/2" water tube just like stated above. 2 piece adapter and you're good to go. 40a charging system as well as stock limiter.

And you can ship the 260 to Virginia...

Also make sure the water/cooling routing and dump system is setup for the PM not like a 260.

Other than changing my 3/4 dump tube to 1/2 inch everything else should be the same? The motor has poppets and washers, I will put the correct thermostats back in. Thanks!

You must mean 3/4 pump top to 1/2, yes that needs to be done?
The water dump system on a 2pc plate is different, the block hoses need to be ran properly. One of the dumps, hooks up to the plate the other pumps out of the cowling. Popet dumps to the top of the block.

Thanks. Does anyone have a picture of hose configuration? I have a 1/2 pump top already.

steering arm bolts of the 260 brequet are thicker
you will have to drill the solid mounts of the 2 piece plate and use other bolts with nuts
or create new ones in which they can thread in

Here's how the motor is currently setup. Hoses are still on powerhead. http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d5/tony97gt/7EC23273-C471-43E7-A37C-93D9E1CA6B44-3803-0000021477777E28_zpsbf58d687.jpg

Thanks Tony! Now to further complicate things, who is running a 260 style fuel setup on a Promax? VST delete. What needs to be changed?

fuel pump goes in the boat like a normal 260 and I use an aeromotive adjustable bypass regulator http://kmjent.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/22822/s/aeromotive-13129-new-efi-bypass-fuel-pressure-regulator-gauge-fittings-1000hp/ in lieu of the vst.

Ok cool, wasn't sure if maybe you had a garage and were gonna set it up and run it on the hose to get it tuned. Let us know how it goes in March.

Kicked it around, winter came early this year. I have a nice heated place to do the swap, boat is stored away in the garage until I get spring fever.( that usually hits late January) Enjoy the warm weather, Merry Christmas!
