Well I rerigged my 91 Laveycraft Sebring 208 the end of last year with a 300X from the old Bridgeport when it threw a rod. I have a stacked set of CMC old jackplates on the boat currently with a 5.5 inch manual in the front and 5.5 inch power in the rear for a total of 11 inches of set back. I was fine with them until I started looking at the power plate this fall when I winterized the boat and I discovered due to the extra power and weight of the 300X the power plate is egging the slide holes some and I am not comfortable running it any more. I have an older model apparently and the slide brackets were only made 1/2 inch thick where they hit the rollers and apparently the newer cmc's are 3/4 inch think in that area. I am on the fence as to rather I should just buy a new CMC HS model with the updated plates (cmc says you can't update my old one to the new thicker plates). Or if I should look for a different brand all together and just get a 12 inch single power plate. Looking for suggestions on the highest quality most durable plate people have used out there. Thing of a Bob's Machine, but that 1/2 think flat plate does not look like it would be the most durable set up when driving wide open with it jacked all the way up. Any other good brands out there that are durable. I would perfer to keep the pump inside the boat like my old CMC that is currently on the boat.
