AN OLDER STYLE WORM GEAR IN AND OUT 12" ABOUT LATE 80S EARLY 90S. WHAT EXHAUST ADAPTER WITH A NEW TUNNER WILL FIT IN THIS HOUSING. AND IS THERE TWO PIECES OR ONLY ONE. MEANING IS THERE A EXHAUST DIVIDER W/TUNER ATTACHED AND ALSO A SPACER (2ND PIECE) ABOUT 3/4" THICK? THANKS ERIC.

Eric - generally, the 12" tuner is a one piece unit, a spacer is not used.
Early style tuners have a wider exhaust hole in them, in a shape similar to an "L", the exhaust outlets in the engine block are the same shape.
A later style tuner will interchange without any problem.
Should a spacer (for what ever reason) be used, either on top of or below the tuner flange, powerhead mounting studs (of an appropriate length) will be required.

Eric - The S3000 Version consists of a two piece unit -

PLATE #848166 1 & DIFFUSER (TUNER) #849488 1.

The spacer should only be needed if you were trying to run an early style speedmaster.

AN 89 MODEL. IT HAS THE WASHER INSETS FOR THE GEARCASE. MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I MAKE A 2.5 TUNNER WORK IN THIS MODEL MID? IT HAS SOME KIND OF A TUNER THAT IS KINDA LIKE A 2.5 RECTANGULAR TUNNER BUT HAS A SMAL DOGLEG OR CURV IN THE TOP OF IT. WANT IT TO BE STRAIGHT. THANKS GUYS FOR ALL THE REPLYS.
