Gentleman,
I'm thinking of taking a trip to Scottsdale/Phoenix, Arizona in a month or so. Any opinions on where to stay in Scottsdale? I'm planning on renting motorcycles, so where would the best "scenery" be to go ride to? Anyone ever heard of Bourget Bikeworks? They have a huge facility down there that I'd like to check out. Anyone know where that is in relation to Scottsdale? Finally, what kind of weather do they have down there in late February or early March?
Thanks,
Mike Sufka

Weather???
Better than ours.. It'll (usually) be in the 70's -- the locals freeze, but you'll be lovin' life..
I didn't know Bourget was down there though...

Bourget's address is:
21407 North Central Avenue
Phoenix, Arizona.
How long a drive is that from Scottsdale?
Thanks,
mike
It's about 30 miles.. Depending on where you are in Scottsdale..

I've heard that it's a pretty impressive shop - builds sand draggers/buggies too... Also look up the Easyriders store/shop down there too - nice' guy named Myron Larrabee is also building some reallly cool custom Harleys out of there as-well. Have a good trip!;)

My daughter lived there for about 7 years. The west side of Phoenix has better and less expensive hotels at least they seem a lot cleaner. Scottsdale is good but expensive. DON"T STAY DOWNTOWN! Don't forget to go to Pinnacle Peak Patio just north of Phoenix and try a steak. Good bike ride and scenery to get there. It's real casual but be sure to wear a tie. THEY'LL CUT IT RIGHT OFF AND NAIL IT ON THE WALL!!!!! If you want real mexican food try Raaul(sp) and Teresas' Mexican Restaurant on Litchfield Road and Hwy 85, it's a hole in the wall with outstanding food. Firebird Lake in Chandler is another amazing site if any races are going on. The phoenix area is a nice place to visit if you like dust , cactus and very few trees.!!!AND TRAFFIC!!!!All in all it's worth the trip.

Make sure you get up to Cave Creek (just north of Pinnacle Peak) and check it out. Kinda an old west lookin' town, lots of bikes. Also make sure you go south out of town and check out Firebird Raceway and stop in and say Hi to Bob Bondurant at his high-performance driving school. You can stand up in a tower built over the track and watch the cars rip by right under you.....
My parents live out there, and are reporting record high temps this week. Getting to around 82, which is down right perfect out there in the dry air. I was out there visiting in September. Got to meet up with Marc (Arizona Hot Boater). Cool guy. In Scottsdale, PF Changs is a great place to eat. There's about a billion great places to eat there, but that one kinda stands out.
