The season is up for me here in Upstate New York! But, reading the posts about you guys here,
brightens up my day a little! I really wish I could boat 8 or 9 months outta the year like some of you!
Keep up the good work guys, and keep that hammer down!

Chin up, old boy! We ain't so blessed all the time down here either!
We do have a long boating season down south. But summertime here on the Texas coast is a perpetual Sauna. Running a boat up and down the river during that time reminds me of driving through a steam oven. Take a dip to cool off? It's like slipping into a tub of tepid chicken soup. My favorite time to ride is from about October through April or May unless we get a real good cold snap (low 50s or less in the afternoon). Right now is perfect! Seventies during the day, and the oppressive humidity is gone. Pull your rig down here for a while and enjoy some nice cool days on the water and some fabulous Cajun food.

March through November but there are an occasional December or January day that hits into the 50's and the boat hits the water. We get 300 days of sun a year and about the same amount of rain as Los Angeles. I don't even bother winterizing any more.

Gee Tony thats too bad, my son-in -law and I hit it last Thursday for 8 hrs it was 70 that day we caught them all day just about! it is nice its just about year round here depending on Cahonie size. my only problem is the stinking 300x on my Bullet is too heavy backwash is dangerous for a not so "focused" as this partner i took( a dowsing was inevitable ) im taking it off as we speak though im building another NASTY promax for it

It was about 80 here in Houston today and it sure was nice to get the boat out for a couple of hours. Stretched it out a couple of times and then just floated and got a nap laying back on the casting deck! It was sooooo nice. Even got a little sun. I am digging the long boating season down here. Now if the crawfish were still in season...!

The problem with year round boating is the cost of fuel, wear and tear on gear and of course the honey do list. Yes it is tough boating year round. But some of us can handle it just grin and bear it.

Not to rub it in, but reading this is a great reminder of why I love living in Florida!

Kingbishp, That does suck but to the other side, by the time its nice out to go get it wet. You shoud have everything you've wanted to do to it done. If any work is needed at all. Good time to thoroughly go through everything and make sure everythings good for next year.
Hey Mastertrax I see southeast texas in your location. By any chance you around the Beaumont nederland area?

what he said, as long as the water's liquid, we're running!! When it's frozen, that's a different story!!!

Secret is to have a north/south home and a boat at each. No doubt boating if Florida is great but the north east is pretty damn good in the summer. That way you get the best weather each has to offer.
