hate to say it but been there done that...had an old chev van, stick shift, was loading boat after a long day at BEER CAN ISLAND, fighting the sand fleas, there deadly..., emergency cable broke, motor was in gear but no compression, it was tired, the van started to run me over, couldn't stop it bye myself, jumped out of the way just in time to watch it go blub blub blub...the best part was when the tow truck driver got there he said where is it and I pointed down the river(it was going out with the tide) still had the trailer attached, best $100.00 I ever spent...laughed for a week, van was trashed...*#*t happens

Good grief, it seems this kind of thing happens every year. I can't imagine what that owner feels like after doing that.

Magnum, there was a similar van that got pulled in at Tanner park a long time ago - it floated out toward the bay, then floated right back to the ramp when the tide started to come in. We pulled it right up the ramp until the tow truck came. I was amazed that it floated that long.

We had this happen here, Lake Tarawera, Rotorua. Guy was launching his boat and left the engine running while he attended to the boat. His dog knocked the auto transmission lever into reverse and the whole lot ended up in the drink. The guy was devastated because he couldn't save his dog........
