Valero! another boat starting with a V.
Hello! lol.
I have two Valaero's Vee and YT, what prop did you get high 70's i used a 26 small ear Chopper for same runs on my 2.5 200 hp with four people in my Vee. YT's are Power Sponges but stabil like my HST. So i love em! JIM

Jim,

That's a V I have't owned yet! Ryan, who sold me this YT and my Vector and Vamp, has 2 Valero YT's. One is a closed bow and the other a bow rider.
The best is saw with the Vking this past season was 86 mph running a 26 p chopper on a bobs coned 200 case about 1 1/2" above the pad with 10" setback. I have a '81 225 2.4 liter. That speed was before I installed a Hotfoot and blinker trim. I hope for a few more mph next year when I can drive with 2 hands!

Wow, you are the man in Streams! No Doubt! 1st place, i have owned 2 Valero's (now) a Vector and an HST. i heard great things about Venus, your thougths? anyone mention good or bad? i hate my Valero's only legal to 175 hp. i am installing a Bridgeport on my YT, and yes! it has Sea Star with Blinker trim which is Light years ahead of a goofey old "phone cord" and buttons on the spoke of the wheel. lol. i love Hydraulic so much, cannot wait til someday equip my other Valero with it, i had it on there one season, wow, balancing on the pad, with a 26 Chopper small ear, 4 people, GPS 76 mph, so smooth my gf's daughter was texting, vs Vector her and her mom with same motor said "WE WILL NEVER GO IN THAT BOAT AGAIN!" amazing how different the hulls handle above 75 mph. A friend asked me if more set back on YT would help? my HST had 11" total, i don't want to crack my virgin YT transom, so am hesitant to go beyond my CMC's 5" JIM

I'm just a collector :). I've never even ridden in a Venus, but most who own them seem to like them a lot. I've asked around, and heard that a lighter weight YT likes a 6" jack plate. Mine has 5" spacers with a 5" manual jack plate. I have thought about taking out the spacers and trying just the 5" plate. The way the gas tank and battery are mounted, it would be not be a quick project! This is my second boat with hydraulic steering and I feel it is worth every penny.

Hi Bill, sorry to sound stupid, but a "lighter YT" is the V King and Valero similar in weight? and do you mean, say a Valero YT vs a Vegas XT? or one loaded with only 1-2 people mostly?
Thanks, JIMBO

Jim,

I was saying lighter meaning having a dry core and not having having 500#'s of stereo equipment and coolers

oh, yes, my boat is stripped, dry as a tomb and no stereo, or anything, even ski locker empty, understood. Thanks! Bill.
