Increase jackplate setback?

Any benefit on doing this with a 23' Kryptonite? I have a CMC with 5.5" and was thinking of going with a Bob's at 8". I have a 300XS on the back. I was looking to upgrade the jackplate anyway. What are the effects if any? Little bit faster I would guess but what about holeshot? I also have a ski pole on the boat we use to pull tubers.

its all about the balance try adding setback plates on it as a test before you spend a lot of money. try bobs 2 inch blocks and 4 inch blocks from bobs first. you can sell the plates and blocks after test
