Finally got to fire up my first rebuild that i did myself. Its a 90 model 225 yamaha. I was anxious and nervous as hell when i turned the key hoping like hell it would start. Gonna pull my dads 150 pro v off his 17v bullet and hang the 225 on it for break in and do a little playing after that. Big thanks to some great guys on here for helping me out with parts and some answers.

Nice job! I'm itching to buy something that needs work and take it all apart so I can learn how to do a rebuild. Must be a great feeling to hear it run and know you did it.

No doubt. Thats what i did on this one. Ive helped a friend rebuild a couple of mercs but he was rite there to watch and make sure i didnt mess up. All i had on this one was a manual and a few phone #s. I cant wait to get it rigged and on the water.

Tony, I agree with you about wanting to a rebuild. Problem is, I can take stuff apart pretty well, but end up with extra screws left over after getting it all back together.........
(Got the perfect engine sitting here... a fresh water Evinrude 6).

What year is the motor? I really like the decals on it I have a 1988 150 pro v that could use a new paint job and decals.
