Eric and I decided to make a new thread with clear details for this nonevent. The idea behind having a run from Tanner to Freeport is just to remember where this all began, there is a lot of history between Tanner and Freeport... DETAILS: Meet outside Tanner 10-10:30 am Sunday Morning, Start Running over to Freeport around 11:15am. We will be going to Braccos once again. Please Obey all posted laws, and Navigational rules. Last year was almost 70 boats, Let's make this year just as good. Please no ripped off motor cowlings... or ejected boat passengers.. :D

Doc, I'm throwing a 14" Bob's, Titus TM and Latham side steering but Bob's is killing me. The new setback should have been here Monday but as of now it is not here yet...

I want to do this run with my 42 fountain and I also spoke to a few guys with bigger performance boats that want to do this run too , but their concern was the route you are taking

will you go up Amityville cut and take the state channel ??? or will you take that cut that starts just west of the amity cut and cuts through the marshs , I know that cut is deep once you get in it but it isn't well marked on the way in and the way out

I am not confident there is enough water everywhere on the way in and way out for bigger boats with I/O's

also , if its calm that day would you guys consider going out fire island inlet and coming in through jones inlet as a fun "ocean run" way to get to Freeport ???

I am not confident there is enough water everywhere on the way in and way out for bigger boats with I/O's

how about leaving from tanner and heading east a bit , maybe to somewhere like Babylon cut and take that into the state channel and then take that to Freeport

going from tanner directly to Freeport isn't much of a run at all , it will take some of the faster boats 10 mins to get from tanner to Freeport and maybe 20 minutes for the slow boats

it would be fun to head east to Babylon cut and take the state channel back , I know 5 mph zones suck but it will be a way for everyone to regroup

If the cut through the marshs comes out by the middle bridge on the Wantagh Parkway becareful. I went through there twice this year and had a problem both time with my I/O. It is marked poorly in the middle section. I refuse to go through there by myself now lol.

I am going to try to get out tomorrow from Wantagh Park. I might not be able to get out till 1-2 though.

Hopefully I'll see you guys there and make a few new friends.

Pitbull that boat is awesome Thanks Just got it back together about a month ago. Has ran 94.5 so far but it has a stock XR 1:50 gear case and a stock27p Hydromotive 5 blade. it stands on the limiter. Putting together a 1:36 Imco then going to take notes before I send the wheel out for a tweak. Looking for 105 when its done.

Its Sandarg. He met us at Freeport where My carb was leaking, starter took a **** and battery died. He had to drive me to my shop to get a booster and we tightened the fuel lines wacked the starter and made it back. From Tanner My belt fell off and I got it back on just in time to leave.

what rpms were you turning,great run... Banging the rev limiter at 6000 because of the gear ratio. Richie is currently building be a 1:36 ratio Imco case which should yield 10 more mph. The nice thing about that boat is that it will hit its number on a pretty constant basis. Not a " when the wind is right and the stars are aligned type hull" It really rides like a bigger boat. Plus it seats 6 nicely. Glad we put the bigger engine in it. Working out nicely. Heard some talk about another run in a week from today. Anyone know anything??
