86 laser 380, merc 225x, stainless marine jackplate, 4.5" of setback, 1.87 sportmaster just above the pad. So far I've tried a 28 et pro on the limiter got me 87mph gps, 28 et 3 blade got me 88mph and my old 27 trophy that came with my motor got 89.5mph...so close to 90. Love the boat but I have to figure out the proposing. I put some weight in the bow that helped a bit. It really bounces with the trophy. Anyway here is a video of me running along, any comments or suggestions are welcome.

I too am in the setup stages on my 380/ 225 promax. Now I am at 1 1/2" above with sportmaster 1.87. The boat is fairly light. My Yamaha 28 drag gets me 82 @ 7000(bumping limiter). A 34 Hoss is 77 @ 5600(clearly way too much prop). I bought a 29 SRX and it bumps the limiter and only runs 77. It bounces bad at all speeds. It was supposed to have been worked by DAH but John there says it had been reworked by someone else long after he did it. I am going to send it back to DAH and have it reworked. I am looking for 90 with this powerhead. I had a lot more powerful engine on it before but still didn't have set up right and I could run mid 90's.

If's theirs too much weight on the transom or too much set-back 380's bounce... I've found moving weight forward and using the weight box under the bow really helps alot. Some props i've tryed make the boat bounce worse too. I ran a 16'' mid this year on mine and the boat really seemed to like it. Responded to trim input much better.

I can get the bounce out of mine with different props.

my yamaha drag doesnt do it. John @ Dah says when he gets done with my SRX it will carry the bow like it's supposed to.

Coned 200 or TM work wonders. Stock Sportys are not tha best on it. Props make a difference on any of 'em. Start just a tad below and go from there.......jmo

try a drag plate, any kind will do. it really tamed my hydrostream down i can cruse with little to no porpoising and it launches like a rocket now, before it would cavitate and lift the bow.
