The Merc Trophy Plus propeller. Looking to purchase one and the seller has no information on it. I need to know if this prop is only available with the Torque Flo hub system?

Many thanks,

SJ

I say yes. Everyone I have ever seen or owned has been a flo-torq.

Mike, interesting a Plus? Large or small shaft?. I have quite a few here and all are flo-torq.

Only one I have ever seen Tony. George is running it on his 24 super. I think it says Trophy Skeeter on it.

The early ones had rubber hubs and reliefs holes drilled but no PVS system. I like the way the early ones run better but they are hard to find.

I have a 23" Large Hub with flo-torque. Seems better all round prop than the small hubs on the BAJA.

A simple photo should tell you if it is flo torque or not.

Thats exactly what this is. Pressed in rubber hub and small holes in it.

I have a 27p with a flo-torque. Mine is a fatshaft. I actually want to try a 26p or even a 25p. The one I have now is great for top end but not so good for watersports.

Thanks guys. The dude selling the prop knows very little about it. He purchased it via auction when told it would fit his current boat. Found it didn't fit and is a bit pissed.

I am looking for a smaller prop to put on my engine for break in time. I don't want to spend a fortune on it and consequently don't want to show too much interest in the auction. I have asked for an additional photo to help try to identify the hub system.

I appreciate the information, seems most will have Torq Flo hubs.

Here are some pic's of the large hub Trophy that is the best running prop ever on the BAJA, fastest top end, best accell. best low speed planing. Bought it in around 97 worked way better than the small hub version. Has flo-torque hub need to get it re hubbed for a fat shaft.

I believe everything after the A40 series had a Flo-Torq hub, but the A40 might have had it also. I had a real early 24" Trophy. Just a plain Trophy, not the Plus. It was a different blade design (blades were less rounded) and had a rubber hub. It was an OK prop but a 23" Plus would run about the same speed at the same rpm.

I heard the the Offshore - Vensura was the same as what I have, any truth to this ??

The seller has put this photo up showing the internals of this prop. Can someone look at this and tell me fixed hub or TorquFlo hub?

Thats a fixed hub I would say. but looking at the other one its real hard to tell? Hmmm If you can see the other end it would be easy to tell.

It seems like a flo-torq hub with a small shaft insert. To truly confirm like mentioned above a back side pic would confirm.

yeah lets see the back with out the thrust washer in there.

The older large hub trophy is the exact same prop as the Offshore/Vensura prop of today. Not a good performance prop.

Depends on your take, I have just about tried every Merc Prop and aftermarket props on my BAJA, started in 92 and hands down the Large Hub Trophy IS THE BEST PROP YET. Sometimes what is crap on one boat is the magic prop on another. You just never know till you try it.

those are flat on top and the splined washer sat on top, this appears to have the raised ring for the prop nut washer and no recesses for the tabs.

Guys, thanks for the information. I have decided to get this prop if possible. Reserve is $300 so quite well priced.:D I have two Flo Torque hubs for converting Merc to OMC (4.0 V8) so even if this has a fixed hub which sounds highly unlikely it still may fit my shaft. Worse case scenario I have to get it re-hubbed. Still worth doing.

Thanks again for all the help.

So I got lucky. Won the auction for $300. Prop has arrived and is mint. To the important question. It is not a Flo Torque hub BUT it is hubbed for OMC, 15 splines so fits the V8.

I'd call that a result.:D

Thanks to all those who gave me guidance and expressed their opinion.
