I'm buying a boat for the motors and trailer. It would maybe be worth repair for a DIYer but its beyond what my facility can handle so I either want to give it away or junk it. How / where can you junk a boat and will it cost me if no one wants it? (I have to do it legally BTW). I don't have it yet. Waiting for seller to find title or get a dup so he can sign it over to me. Should have in a week or two. It's a 1980 Chris Craft Excalibur 310 CC. Really weathered transom and floor are shot. Hull might be solid. Don't know about stringers. PM me for a pic if interested.

Take it to the trash landfill.

I had a 30 foot sleekcraft I took to Mazza in Tinton Falls. Gas tank has to be removed and any fluids. Paid by the ton.

Yup. Landfill. It's $100 a ton or so around here but I was told there's a $100 boat fee on top of that at at least one place.

I use to be involved ( I was a shipwreck photographer) with a group that took hulls like that and sunk them off our N.E.coast. Go to a local dive shop and ask around--- Nothing to lose - Maybe save a little bit! You may get lucky. Gary

I will pay you to dump it on my neighbors lawn! his dog dump enough on mine! However the hot dogs in the rat traps seem to have stop him from pissing on my tires!

Craigslist, free boat, be sure to get the title in their name.

Yea that's what I was going to do but I kinda want to make sure I don't get stuck with it forever before i buy it. I wish I had a big enough garage to make a project of it. Looks like one way or another I should be able to get rid of it though and still make buying for the trailer worthwhile. Thanks for all the info.

Trust me, if it doesn't have a motor and will never see the water again, some redneck will take it off of Craigslist and park it in their backyard forever.

Either take it to the landfill after you strip it, or put it on craigslist as free boat. Make sure and sign the title and make a copy of it for your records.

Sacrifice it to the gods on the water like the vikings did. Burn it to davie jones locker. Its legal if its a ritual or event. They do it all the time around the world. Also you can donate her to a dive club. They can sink her and use it as a dive site. You can value the donation and write it off. Did that with a 20ft years ago.

Post it on Craig's list as a free boat and make a couple of dollars off the trailer
