Putting a 90 model 225 yamaha back together and used a 6G5 crank and it wont work. Fly wheel will not fit due to taper size. Wayne Worthy said i needed a 6R5 crank.
Thanks, Gary

I have a large taper crank in a powerhead that I'm parting out, find out from Wayne what the measurement needs to be. The small taper is 23 mm ( .905" ) and the large taper is 25mm ( .964" ). If you need the large taper, the one I have should be it.

The 6G5 lists the small taper so I assume you need the large taper.

Yes thats what i need. Russ Rogers had one but after looking at it real close he told me #3 journal was bad. Trying to find an older crank is rough. Wayne said a 6R5 crank, but the book shows 6R3. Ill find out for sure and get back with ya. How much u askin for it?
Do u need a like new 6G5 crank? Up for any trading?

I have no need for a 6G5 crank, trying to clean out a bunch of parts I have now.

This crank is still in a powerhead that I'm working to part out, should not have any journal damage. Motor had some scoring on one cylinder wall customer had another powerhead we dropped on for him. 6R3/6R5 same thing. only 2 different crank models in those motors.

$400 to your door. The reman cranks through Pro marine are selling for $485 dealer cost with a MSRP of $899. If you are interested I'll get it pulled out and checked out.
