View Full Version : 25 Warlock sxt twin 2.5 260s issues!!

I just purchased a 93 warlock sxt with twin 93 260 carb motors. The boat has 14.5x28p 4 blade mercury cleaver. The issue I am having is that the boat will hardly plane out and once I get it up on plane im only getting low 70s out of the boat at less than 6000rpm at WOT. My dad and I tried some bravo 1s off his boat and mirage plus and mirage but same thing boat almost will not plane with any of those. Compression on both motors is almost perfect at almost 130 across both motors. motors run great. Anyone have an experience with these boats?? any help would be greatly appreciated!!

WHEN DID YOU BUY THE BOAT? DID YOU DO A TEST RIDE? HOW DID IT RUN THEN? IF YOU DIDNT TEST RUN BEFORE BUYING .....WHY? DID THE SELLER MAKE ANY SPEED CLAIMS? CAN YOU CONTACT THE SELLER AND ASK HIM WHATS UP? BOAT SHOULD RUN BETTER THAN 70'S. DO YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH HP BOATS LIKE THIS ONE? DID YOU CHANGE OR DO ANYTHING TO THE BOAT SINCE YOU TOOK DELIVERY? AGAIN, DID YOU TEST RUN BEFORE BUYING ???THIS IS A GOOD TIME TO HAVE THE BOAT OWNER SHOW YOU HOW TO RUN THE BOAT!! AND LEARN ANY TRICKS OR SPECIAL NEEDS TO GET THE FULL POTENTIAL FROM THE RIGG YOU ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH. SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED TO TALK TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND GET SOME INFO.....HE/SHE WILL BE YOUR BEST CHANCE TO GET THIS INFO!!!:thumbsup: WE CAN GUESS ALL DAY LONG AND POST ALL KINDS OF SUGGESTIONS .....BUT THE BEST WAY TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS IS THE PREVIOUS OWNER!!!:cheers:

Are there hydraulic jack plates? I had one of these boats. Turned 15 x 32 cleavers 6100 and ran mid 90's with 250's.
