My son has had one on his Baja for years and never had a problem. It only has an inline six on it, so it isn't being stressed like a V6 would do to it. Their plates look good and seem to be good quality... and priced right.

I just got a 12" for my Vulture project. Haven't mounted it yet, but quality looks great and real nice people to deal with. I'll keep you posted.

Vance Manufacturing has THE BEST customer service I have ever encountered. They make great products. I bought their 4" manual jack plate and couldn't be happier. Very well built quality jack plate. They stand behind their products. You won't be disappointed buying from them. I will buy all of my jack plates from them from now on. I am going to get one of their "FAST FOOT" throttles soon.

I never ran one but not long ago I asked the same Q, all the response I got was positive. Bud Conner on here is a dealer. He's a great guy to deal with.

I have one on my Viper. I had to shorten the top up a touch for my application and added a collar to the jack screw so it will crank down instead of relying on gravity. I drilled a dimple in the adjuster bolt for the set screw in the collar and installed another brass washer. In my opinion, they could have added a better bushing in the height adjuster area. The side bolts could have had the nuts captured to make for easier tightening/loosening but it's not a problem unless you adjust height a lot. It's a little bit of a pain to get in there with a wrench to hold the nuts.

That said, I would buy another one. The quality is excellent and the price was great. I adjusted it a few times while setting motor height, and having the adjuster bolt on top instead of on the bottom (like others), makes it really easy. Just leave the side bolts barely snug until you're done adjusting.
