Love the thread about breaking the 200 mph barrier with an outboard:

http://www.screamandfly.com/showthread.php?267779-Outboard-Top-Speed-World-Record-200-mph-Attempt

Hope the thread continues as things progress.

I was thinking about Jon's Pugh Hydro & just how great Jon had it dialed in.
I'd like to see the Unlimited Outboard Class revived in 1/4 mile drag racing and was wondering if anyone else is planning on bringing some really fast outboards into drag racing?
SDBA still has a "PRO" class for Unlimited Outboards. It would be "heads-up" drag racing between outboards only with no restrictions on ET or HP!!!!! So you wouldn't have to dial anything in for ET...... just hit the starting clock perfect and full throttle to the end of the track ....... First outboard there without red-lighting WINS!!!!!! It would be great to have a field of 6-8 or more outboards competing on the National Lucas Series Circuit. I'm sure with some great competition, we'd see some tv time on MAVTV, ESPN, or CBS Sports.

Anyone want to try to make this happen in 2014? I'd like to get my Pugh running and compete ....... sign me up!!!!!!
I'd be willing to work with anyone else that wants to compete in the Unlimited Outboard Class & help promote it for next year?

There is a fella with a brand new Pugh Hydro going together right now to go after this record and is planning to be racing in at least one Lucas race next year.... perhaps even some testing last race of this year in Phoenix... he has big horse power on tap and very credible... would be awesome to see a re-birth of quarter mile unlimited outboard drags...

We have also discussed using my new capsule deck and the new hull mold we have just finished... he wants a capsule and Lucas would demand it...

Mike, I`ve been waiting for one of your Capsule boats to hit the water. I`m pretty sure i know who the mystery guy is and i can`t wait till he starts testing.

I'm sure you do know Da Bull I don't think it's a big secret, but not my place to say who... I've been consumed with cowls for the past couple years, so boats been taking a back seat... Capsule deck is finished, new hull mold is finished and waxed and new open drag deck is has three layers of glass on the plug now... it should be done in a few weeks too... would like to do a capsule hull soon, but first one will take a while and not willing to make a fly weight one like everyone wants... at least not yet...

cheers

Hey Mike,
Do you think you could talk the guy into starting a thread or a blog with lots of photos so everyone could enjoy the build and everything that's associated with building a race boat for 1/4 mile drag racing? It would be cool to follow along with the "200 mph thread"! :D
