Good day, as stated in the title, I just bought an Hydrostream HST equiped qith an 225, V6, 3.0L (1994) engine (outboard). It has a quicksilver 14.25 X 28, an Hot-foot, all temp and water pressure monitors, it also has an Hydrolic jackplate (not working) set to the lowest. I will have to repair it since i can't raise the engine completely, it bends on the transom alum. plate. The dual steering kit was amputated of one (the other one was seized) but i will buy another one to make it dual cables. It has NO solid mounts ( don<t think i would need any since it is not a V-Pad but a Tunnel). The center of the prop is alligned to the bottom of the center keel. I will be looking to ALL connections BEFORE using it on the water and, and ASAP i will remove the oïl injection system due to it<s unreliablenes (known issues).....There is a Lower pickup (Bob nose cone) installed to it but the person that installed it should find himself another job (laugh) I will post pictures of the welds. don't fall of your chairs when you'll see them. The oiling system seems to work okay but I will ''tolerate it'' till this fall....but I swear not longer. There is no hook Under the hull as I checked, it looks solid and no evident cracks, bumps ou anything installed so I would suspect a weak transom or bottom. I am not sure if the floor has been replaced but I will check that in a couple of days There is a few questions in my mind and here they are: Will I need a defelctor to compensate the engine torque on the bottom fin since there is No way the water will ever touch the one above the prop ?? . Second: what is the max RPM I should allow this baby to go to as a safe maximum..?? Thanks in advance for the rely(ies)

The thing you are talking about is a torque tab on the skeg. If yours has one it will be sticking out on back edge of the skeg and seem like a ramp. if not the skeg will be almost straight on each side. As far as torque fears...well you will have some with just cables regardless. if you don't wanna deal with torque steer look into the hydraulic steering.

What is the year and weight of the boat? There are so many disparaging differences in weight on the different years and layup types, that there almost no generalizations or "baseline" set-ups for these hulls, even if powered by the same motor.

Sorry for the delay bue the manufactured date is 1990 (approx) and for the weight, I can't specify on it, would have to weight both things (trailer with and without boat) inorder to find out. Thanks in advance for the info's
