22" of setback in about 2 meter swells... not ideal..

Looks like you need a plate under your setback bracket :D

James, my back is killing me just watching that :D It also looks like the passengers decided to hide after that first hit on that second boat :D BTW, welcome to LI waters and be careful, things happen very quickly!

Looks like similar waters to here on NY, Long Island Sound ! Ooh and after last Saturday's run over to Stamford CT. I have now ordered bungee "T" cowl straps to add to my motor cover.
Looks like you are moving up into to real SOB waters and having fun still...cool.
You should swap out to 12"-13" setback on those days....:D

thinking about trying 14" just to see what the differences are with this new motor.... Ps its not the suction cup.. i put the stickies on each boat.. the suction cup floats around on my perfect deck..lol

Yep i figured worse case the motor would hang from the cables and not sink to the bottom.... lol.. that kind of water is there but only if you want it. and that day i thought i would see what you guys run in.

I can't see vid on my phone but I can only imagine:) I took my boat on Lake Michigan this weekend and yes I miss all the weight that was in my bow. I'm running 14" setback and think ballast tank will be in order for next season!

When I had my shadow 20 odd years ago I would run e.r inlet to jones inlet in stuff like that
2.4 200 bolted right to the transom, it would run though anything, Water used to break over the bow
granted I was much younger and dumber
Cool video James

Breaking story>>>>>>Two Men Saved in Dramatic Rescue on Long Island Sound (http://huntington.patch.com/groups/police-and-fire/p/two-men-saved-in-dramatic-rescue-on-long-island-sound_52c4a820)
The above 24' Superboat story happened just this last Friday and is big reminder why we should always wear your vests and use the Lanyards.........

Have you ever considered a set of trim tabs? I added a set to my Progression 22 for just that kind of water - which happens more than I want to admit here on Lake Ontario. Oh, and less setback really helps too. BTW, you balls must clank.

When I got ejected out of my hull at 75 I blacked out before I even hit the water. I always wear two vests (thin set and a full neck) when I am being really stupid and that day they helped but only having a spotter got me out of the drink in time and called in 911. Make sure you have that spotter or meet your maker. That video is super cool, and the music to it is just awesome James. Boat looks awesome. Your putting together some really cool vids. Looks like the East River with a nice breeze blowing.

While it wasn't quite as exciting as yours, your video reminded me of the Fun Run on Lake Norman last year when a larger boat (probably a 35' Outlaw or similar) was changing positions and I ran across his wake! I don't have a pic of my boat (Checkmate Enchanter), but I know that one of my clamshells ended up at the bottom of Lake Norman.
