Having some issues with my new motor. It's 25/30 Tohatsu 2 stroke.

Was driving along a few outings ago and it just stopped dead. Took a while to start then ran fine. Was out today and same again stopped dead. Every time it would start when it went to idle it would die. Lots of fuel in the air intake on the carb, and spitting fuel out through the exhaust hub when i pull the start cord.

Disconnected the fuel and plug leads and turned it over a few times, put the leads back on and it fired up, but then flooded again.

Had to get towed back to the ramp. Got home and it started full pull and ran fine, left to idle for about 10 mins.

I gave it full stick this time when it died, perhaps it drew in too much fuel to burn off?

Can't really take it in, i can but local mech is booked out for 2 weeks as it it, plus i purchased the motor new from elsewhere, so it's not going to be at the top of their priority list.

Any ideas on why it's drawing so much fuel?

Could be a few things, dirt in carb idle passage, float sticking, water in the fuel, etc.
