I have a 2005 Mercury Optimax 175. This is the problem: when trying to get up on plane, motor runs great until I hit approximately 2500 rpm at which time, it instantly shuts off. It will crank right back up immediately and run great for hours as long as I don't go over 2500 rpm.
Mechanic replaced water pump impeller and main relay in motor thinking that would solve the problem. However the problem still persists. Any, suggestions?
