Hi not sure if i am posting in the right section if not mods can move....

i bought this boat and finaly got it running PERFECT.. I have had it out 2 times now, 1st time was just to fine tune the motor..
2nd time was a joy ride.... Not so joyable...
The boat is crazy fast and i found out it chine walks easily.. my problem is this maybe its just me or its the boat itself but i find it handles like CRAP...it just wants to jump and if hit a wake it jumps out of the water ....... any advice or is this something i need to live with

**boat specs 16ft 115 merc

Welcome to the world of high power V bottoms.Well here's a kinda check list of possibilitys.Single cable, or loose dual cable steering, rubber instead of solid engine mounts,To much trim, engine to deep,And just needing more seat time!

Wow!!!! You don't need to live with it but in time you'll learn to deal with it. That's what it's all about! Stay in the seat for a while and enjoy the learning experience. The lack of a hotfoot and steering wheel trim is kind of a problem. There is a learning curve, but you'll get it....good luck and be safe.

Never seen anything like it. The deck almost has a Venom shape.

Have a friend hold the wheel steady, and give the motor a shake. Find the loose play and try to eliminate it. This will help handling, but you still need to learn to control chinewalk with appropriate steering input.

It looks like my 16 baja but mine has a windshield have to look at the title to see what year it is though have never run it needs a total rebuild and then I'm gonna put my 140 evenrude on it got it stripped all I got to do is drill rivets and the cap will be off

All previous suggestions are steering you in the right direction. But It always helps if you can take detailed pictures of the set up i.e. stern, lower, mounting etc. And the bottom. That hull may have a severe hook in it also.
