SOLD

Hull, powerhead, and midsection still available.

It's a 1988 tunnel hull with a 2000 225 Mercury ProMax. Will sell with or without power. Motor has about 40 hours on it from rebuild by Shaun Torrente. It's a stock motor with shaved heads but still runs pump premium. Motor runs strong and pulls hard. Never had any issues with it! High performance 8.5 spark plug wires on it as well. Oil injection removed so it runs pre-mix. It was purchased about a year ago from hoovershark who is a member here. Cowling and skirt were freshly painted, and custom graphics were added to the cowling. Bass 225 ProMax midsection with drilled out exhaust.. Engine has 140/145 PSI on all 6.

Here is the link to the thread where hoovershark sold the other one of the pair of motors http://www.screamandfly.com/showthread.php?246673-225-Promax-Powerhead&highlight=225x

As for the rest, I just put it on a very nice 2007 Continental aluminum trailer. Trailer has brand new tires, brand new bearings, new rims, new LED lights, brand new bunks, brand new carpet, new leaf springs, and is setup for brakes but I don't feel the need for them. Trailer also has small pvc/aluminum guides. Boat now has brand new interior with pressure treated plywood, new foam (bagged), new hardware, and new vinyl. Has Livorsi carbon fiber faced Monster Gps Speedo with high speed recall, monster tach, monster gauges-trim, volts, water press, water temp, fuel press, fuel level. Gauges were purchased and installed this year (not cheap!) Has a brand new humminbird depth sounder with transducer mounted inside the bilge. Brand new Livorsi LED nav lights. Custom orange powdercoat shifter. Interior is orange and grey with some carbon fiber dash panels. Brand new black Snap-in carpet. Has a clarion CMS1 stereo with an mw1 LCD remote by the waterline and 4 panasonic marine 6.5" speakers with custom painted grills. I only installed the two rear speakers so the new owner can choose how/where to mount the others. Didn't want to cut a bunch of holes in the new interior. 3 bilge pumps, (2) 450gph on the sides and (1) 500gph in the center. Original gelcoat that was just compounded, polished, and waxed last week. Ski pole comes with it, but I didn't reinstall it with the new interior in case the new owner doesn't want it installed, but the bracket is still in place in the bilge. Dual batteries that are only a few months old, with dual Perko switch. Full custom cover included and engine cover. Hydraulic jack plate with jack/trim turn signal switches on the steering wheel. HotFoot pedal. Blue sea systems Battery isolator (charges both batteries when running but prevents both batteries from discharging), bue sea systems fuse block. 4 Attwood neat cleats all around. Boat is also pre-wired to expand the stereo system as I had several subwofers and an amplifier in it. I could sit at the sandbar all day long cranking the music and the boat would fire right up.

I just painted the bilge and tightened up all the wiring in there. I also replaced the fuel lines (3/8 all the way), primer bulb, water/fuel separating filter, inline filter, and removed/cleaned/painted the fuel filter bracket. Floor and transom are solid and this boat flies straight. I've had it up to 92mph with a 4 blade ET running by myself. Talonkid had his up to 100mph with a 15x30 3 bladed cleaver I believe. With setup time this is a 100mph boat.

ASKING $10,500 WITH POWER , $4,500 MINUS POWER AND GAUGES. $5500 FOR HULL,TRAILER, AND GAUGES. IF THE AD IS UP, THE BOAT IS STILL AVAILABLE. Boat is titled and registered in FLA.

We've done a lot of upgrading on this boat. When we got it, it had the original interior, gauges, trailer, and a junk motor. No stereo, junk shifter, and gel coat was cleaned with soft scrub by the previous owner. I compounded the gel for almost 12 hours to bring it back. It doesn't even look like the same boat anymore. It had no carpet except in the sponsons. And the nav lights were the removable ones. Plastic cleats, One battery, Wires everywhere, An old chopper prop that cracked....so you can see the money and time we've invested into it. It's a great boat and we have the title so we would love to keep it, but we don't need two boats.

I just purchased a 86 18' talon. How much setback did you run to get 90's? Prop shaft height?

I'm not sure but if I had to guess it was 4-6" setback. Height I played with, had hydraulic Jack plate.

Hey DBvking, I just picked up a 1990 T18 in montreal this summer and am running it on lake simcoe now. Its got a 150 pro v 1990 yamaha on it. I am planning to put a 10" hydraulic jackplate on it, bobs cone, and longterm putting the stage 3 hydrotech 225hp kit on the motor so i can run 100mph+ with a 32 pitch 3 blade cleaver liek talonkid did. I was wondering what your boat is running now and what the set up is. cheers

Hi,

I have a hydraulic jackplate (a must) with 6" setback running a 30 chopper on a CLE. Motor is a 200hp EFI Promax and got low 80's MPH on the GPS.
Going to raise the motor 1" next year, highest it will go to try to get more out of the boat. Also looking for a good Cleaver same pitch for next summer.
Love the boat as it handles great.

Thanks for the info, I am really hoping I can put a hydraulic jackplate on it this winter as I am becoming aware that it will make the most difference with the boat. Right now I am running about 71mph with a labbed 27 pitch chopper with stock motor mount. are you running any low water pick up, is that a must for jackpalte? I am unfamilier with the CLE term please excuse my inexperience in the field, its my first boat.

Cheers

PS got any pics of your boat?

The lower unit is a CLE meaning that Mercury cast it in one peace with the holes at the nose.
Like I said Hydraulic jack plate is a must especially running a high pitch prop to get out of the hole and than raise it on the fly at the pad level to get maximum speed.
I have a 26 - 27 - 28 - 30" pitch props.. My favorite the 30"...
And yes a low water pickup is a must as you don't want to have no water pressure, high temp and fry your motor when it is jacked up...
You should post a picture of your boat.. :)
