I found a boat that the owner states is a 1995 Florida Craft 20ft Tunnel Hull. It looks just like an eliminator and has the center pod but, I can not be sure if is a splash or something different. Anyone know of these boats? Here is a picture.

Thanks
Mike

Probably A Sterling. Akerbloom Had A Habit Of Changing Names Every Time He Got Sewed! Which Was Quite Often!

If that is the case, are they good boats or junk?

Kind Of Depends...LOTS Of Wood So, If It's Set Outside All It's Life...You Would Have To Look It Over Very Good! It Should Be A Full Tunnel, So If You Do Decide On Getting It Be Careful.

Wood used throughout the entire build or just the transom? I plan to totally rework the hull if I do purchase it but, if it would need core, transom and former work I guess I better be sure its not rotten away. Should I just look for soft spots on the transom and hull?

Most Of Those Boats Had A Balsa Wood With Clear Glass Floor...VERY PRETTY When It Was New The Treasom Was Also Wood. They Had Some "Issues" From What I Remember But, I Can't Remember One With A Core Problem....But, They Were All Pretty New Back Then So, A Rotton Core Wouldn't Have Shown Up. I Knew At Least 6 or 7 Guys That Bought Them. One That Belonged To A Buddy In Albiny Georgia (Ben Rowdy) Was Fast As Hell Back Then! I Just Thought About It Though, Those Boats Were Way Older Than 95' They Would Have Been 10+ Years Older Than That Boat. Unless Someone Bought The Molds From Akerbloom. Not Sure....

I talked to the owner again and he said the Title has Florida Craft and its 20ft in length not 19ft. He also said the boat has very little wood throughout the build but, then again I want to look it over myself.

BTW, I am in Leesburg GA which is pretty much Albany. Any chance Ben is still in the area with a sterling?

Last Time I Talked To Him, He Had Moved To Fla. He Was A Crop-Duster And, From What I Remember, He Got A Better Job Over On The East Cost Dusting Orange Trees. Now That Was Probably, 20+ Years Ago. The Guy That Built His Motors And Worked With Him On The Boat Was Named Tim Crimmons. He Owned Albany Outboards. He Mite Still Be Around. The Sterlings Were 18' A "Shortened" Version Of Eliminators

Here are a few more pictures of the boat. I am going to check it out this weekend for sure. If it looks solid I may grab it up. The motor is said to be fresh and the boat runs close to 80mph according to the owner.

I Stand Corrected...That Boat Has A Center Pod...Not Sure Who Made That One...Bob's Boats Had Different Type Interior.

Looks like it may be a Nordic 19ft tunnel hull looking at the top cap. Any one think the same?

On another note, what motor does this boat look to have on it? I was told its a 1995 150xr2 but they did not make those motors in 1995. Maybe its a 1985?

1995 damn sure didn't come with a butterfly/clamshell cowl....more like 1985

That is what I was thinking. What would a 1985 150xr2 be worth as long as it had good numbers on all cylinders and was in good running conditions?

Anyone thing this boat is worth $4000? Owner will not budge from that price and says it is in good shape and only needs cosmetic work to be a nice boat.

I'm not a tunnel man but with all the misinformation I would be skiddish if the motor is an eighty five probably so is the hull so count on it having lots of wood
