I had to use mine while testing on a private lake without a safety crew as I was upside down under water. I was able to somewhat relax and unbuckle and get out. Best money spent!

Wow. Glad you are ok. I have only had to use it in capsule training. It is definitely something a regular racer should invest in along with a neck restraint!

erick how long is air hose with tank , how old is mask and dose it only come on if you go over thanks john would like to talk you about system im looking to get in to a 120 boat you can call me 740 808 3864 watch time im in ohio

There is 3ft of hose attached to the mask a quick coupler attaches another 10ft to the tank. The air is activated when inverted and I believe by water as well. All was purchased in 2005. Thanks

I have a holster so the bottle is strapped to my leg, that way the whole system comes with me. There is a ball in the black part of the mask once it reaches the top it opens the airway weather it's upside down or if it floats. So you turn the bottle on when you get into the boat but don't use any air unless you need it. The bottle should last a season easy if the mask doesn't turn on. I'm guessing there is 10 min of air if you need it.

There isn't a lot of info about these on the net that I could find but I will never be strapped in a boat without one again.
