Eliminating the pulse pump on my 300x and running a holley red pump in the boat. What is the best way to block off the small vacuum port behind the pulse pump?
Thanks in advance!

On my present 300xs and last 300 I just set the PSI on the red pump to around 4psi and let it go through the pulse pump. Haven't had problems yet. My 300xs has been like that for the last 110hrs.

I think he is wanting to know what size pipe plug. to screw in block where pulse fitting is going to be removed. I do not know what size you will need. but get a plug and do it right. a cut off hose with a bolt shoved in it. is not the way to go.

Eigth inch NPT ..

I tap the blocks when the motor is apart. I have also just got a thread or two started with a tap with grease on the snout .. removed the tap and started a pipe plug wraped with teflon paste and let it go in till it started to lock up another turn or so . They go in pretty deep because the parent hole is larger than the recomended pilot drill size ..

If you'd rather not run a pipe tap in your assembled block, an aluminum plug with an "O" Ring on it can be made to insert into the vacuum hole and using the threaded hole next to it, insert a screw with a large flanged head to secure the plug. Plug would be "T" shaped with a larger diameter head on it for the retaining screw to hold it in place. That's the route I took on my 300x.

Here's some pics of the plug on the motor but it won't tell you much, it'll just give you an idea of what I'm talking about.....
